My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Ways to start sentences with "I" or "I'm":

I'm a student and proud to be learning.

I'm usually smiling about life (except when I'm not).

I ride a bike (and just stopped bitching about it).

I used to smoke cigarettes (and now I don't).

Sometimes I talk a lot. Sometimes I'm quiet. Sometimes I'm leering. Sometimes I'm all of the above at the same time. (Also, sometimes I like to start sentences without "I" for effect).

I want a garden. Someone take me somewhere where I can have one. Thanks. (Or be ok with me going somewhere where there is one and you staying here.)

Note: This "I" blurb is meant to be ironic and cute because it's a self summary. Get it? If you don't get it then maybe this is not where you want to be.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
So today I was having lunch with a friend and I said "I just want to meet a boy who is nice, thoughtful, non douchey, cares about the environment, thinks about things.. tall. And plays an instrument."
"why an instrument?"
"so he can serenade me. Duh."
"Good luck with that."
"Hmm, he doesn't have to be tall....?"

I am FINALLY officially a college graduate with a degree in Environmental Studies. Currently applying to nursing schools. (I'm not sure of the connection either.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being empathetic.
Thinking I'm being empathetic.

I'm really bad at...
Being hungry.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair (it's way long these days). OR
"I didn't know Harry Potter was so hairy.." OR
(Most likely) my voice.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Right now i'm really into Neil Gaiman.
Favorite Authors: Eggers, Austen, Auster, Le Guin.
Favorite Books: The Mists of Avalon (uber epic fantasy novel about the women of Camelot. I'm something of a feminist.) Also, What is the What? (about the Lost Boys of Sudan- it changed my life).

Movies: I'll watch anything really. I can appreciate a crappy movie and a deeply intellectual "film." Aka I'm easily entertained.
Favorite Movies: Kill Bill, LOTR, Star Wars. New and old movies. Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dial M for Murder, The Heiress, etc. Before Sunset/Sunrise, and other love stories.

Shows: Mad Men, Scandal, Veep (stellar), Game of Thrones, Colbert, Family Guy, 30 Rock, The Good Wife, True Blood, Nurse Jackie, Girls (it's really hilarious, don't be haters).

Music: R&B, "Alternative," "Indie"
Favorite Music: Sade, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Belle and Sebastian, The National, David Bowie, Nneka, Beyonce, Coldplay, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mary J. Blige, Little Dragon, Air, Carole King, Elton John, Erykah Badu, The Beatles, Etta James, Feist, Gorillaz, Jill Scott, the xx, Robyn, Peaches, Muse.

Food: All

Also, I hate this question.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Apples
The smell of freshly cut grass
Bike riding
Yoga
My glasses
And the feelings that comes from reading a good book. For example:
"Sam looked at me soft. And she hugged me. And I closed my eyes because I wanted to know nothing but her arms. And she kissed my cheek and whispered so nobody could hear.
'I love you.'
I knew she meant it in the friend way, but I didn't care because it was the third time since my Aunt Helen died that I heard it from anyone. The other two times were from my mom."
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What is love and why is it so important to me.
What I want from life.
What I want to do with my life.
If i'll ever finish a story.
Why is there sometimes too much time and other times not enough at all.
What I can do to help.
Why people are dishonest.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I used to go out to parties, and stand around
'cause I was too nervous to really get down
But my body yearned to be free
I went off on the floor, so somebody would choose me
No more standing upside of the wall
Now I got myself together, baby, and I'm having a ball

PS: I'm not a partier. This is a little sarcasm and irony. Also, I like the song.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I love (whether it be my family, friends, someone I'm dating, the old man sweeping his front walk) I love with everything I am. Sometimes it's too much, and sometimes it's not enough, but I think it's the best way to be, and the only way I can be.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 27–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You don't follow the awful, arbitrary gayness scale that doesn't exist. We should be trying to dismantle these stereotypes, not feed them. Here's the thing: i'm a guy who sweats around on a bike belting r&b music at a very un-manly octave. I don't prance around but I also don't play basketball. If you're wondering if i'm "too gay" for you then please don't bother because I probably am.

Also, If you're mellow (but not detached or indifferent) and think it's important to (try to) be happy even if you're not feeling it right now.

I also think it's important to be self-aware and mindful of the affects of your actions/words. (Whether you message me or not.)
