I'm typically described as an intellectual, very nice and polite, and somewhat shy. My hobbies include a lot of reading and watching media like TV and movies, video gaming, and studying Japanese in my spare time. I speak a bit of the language, having picked it up over the years by watching anime, so I've taken to learning to read and write Japanese. Of my unique traits, I would say that, ironically enough, my being an identical twin and being very similar to him makes me rather unique. I'd like to meet someone who'll help me get out a bit more, as I'm a bit of a nerd and a homebody.

I've re-entered college after a hiatus of a few years, where I hope to study a great many things that interest me, such as psychology and sociology. I'm hoping to eventually become a Japanese to English translator, and to that end I have taken the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and plan on taking classes in Modern Japanese language and culture.

Video games. Holding a decent conversation. Listening to others. Translating random stuff into Japanese. I'm also naturally polite with strangers, but among friends and people I know, I can be pretty weird - but that's just part of who I am.

I'm very polite, speak overly formally sometimes, and overuse esoteric or overly complicated terms. It's kind of a defense mechanism, I think. I try very hard to seem really smart so as to accentuate what I consider to be my strongest attribute. I also make really lame puns and jokes if I get too comfortable with someone, so be prepared.

My favorite literary works are A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, The Fall by Albert Camus, The Stranger (also by Camus), Candide by Voltaire, In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, and House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. I was also quite fond of the Sandman series of graphic novels, as well as Watchmen. I probably liked the Watchmen comic better, as I usually like books better than movies.

My favorite movies would include Pulp Fiction, A Clockwork Orange, Kill Bill, Full Metal Jacket, Amelie, Inception, Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Spirited Away, Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea, Howl's Moving Castle, There Will Be Blood, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Lost in Translation, among many others.

For my musical interests, I'm partial to Beck, The Flaming Lips, The Pillows, My Bloody Valentine, The Velvet Underground, and The Wild Swans, among others.

Food isn't a really big priority of mine, but I am partial to Chinese food, and some Japanese food.

I should really include anime as a category, seeing as I watch so much of it. My absolute favorite would be Monster, by Naoki Urusawa. I've never seen a better characterized or plotted series. Other favorites include Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Hajime no Ippo, Berserk (mostly the manga), Code Geass, Death Note, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, any of the Gundam series (with a few exceptions), the new Evangelion OVAs, Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo.

Books, anime, video games, movies, the Internet, electricity.

how to translate a particularly funny or off-putting phrase into what Japanese I know, or at least approximate it. I find it helps me keep in practice, and it's amusing.
I also spend a lot of time thinking about how to start a conversation with the cute girl across the room, but never get up the courage to do so. Curse my shyness.

Watching anime. Or playing video games. Or surfing the Web. These are typical nights any day of the week, really.

My social skills are a bit lacking. If you're willing to forgive that, then we're in good shape. Oh, and I've only had one relationship, but it lasted 2 and a half years, so I'm pretty sure that's not too bad.
