My self-summary
I'm a laid back home-body type of guy, but I don't mind going out and trying something new, especially when someone sells me on the idea of how much fun it will be. I'm loyal and dedicated. I've had a couple of meaningful relationships that didn't work out in the end, but I'm not a serial dater (quality over quantity). I'm looking for someone who wants a dedicated, honest and fun relationship.

On the weekends, I'm perfectly content not getting on any subways and staying put exploring new bars and brunch spots in Greenpoint and Williamsburg or surfing Netflix from the comfort of home. Although I admittedly watch way too much TV, I also like being active - whether that's a rousing game night, a day at the beach, working out or just meeting up with friends for whatever.

I won't bore you with the typical live, laugh, love none sense. I'm sarcastic and a bit of a wise ass. I may accidentally offend you with a poorly timed joke. But at my core I'm a caring and passionate individual. I give 100% of myself to the people I care about and would do just about anything for them.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a New York State Assemblyman. Kudos to anyone who knows what an Assemblyman is. For those who do know, my life isn't much like House of Cards or Veep but more like Parks and Rec.

It's my dream job and I've been lucky to have it for a few years now. Every day at work brings new challenges, some that I've never encountered before even after years on the job. When things go well I can honestly say that the work I do helps people with problems they wouldn't be able to solve on their own.

I also recently graduated from Rutgers with a Ph.D. in political science. Yes, I earned my Ph.D. in my spare time. Ask me how! Since I already have my dream job I am not looking to become a professor but I am beginning work on turning my dissertation into a publishable book manuscript. Comments and suggestions from writers and editors are welcomed!

I'm also a Mets fan and a Rangers fan. I can't believe the Mets resigned Cespedes!
I’m really good at
Lumosity and Ultimate Frisbee. Not quite sure these skills will help me survive the zombie apocalypse but you never know.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm not sold on the usefulness of this section (are you really going to go out with me because we both like Mad Men?) but here's a few items/recommendations.

Books: Working Stiff by Judy Melinek, Home Style by Richard Fenno, if you want to see the kind of writing I do
Movies: Fight Club (and this associated video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZwsKVL6JfM), Big Fish, Death to Smoochy; More recently I recommend Time Lapse, which should still be on Netflix, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BzYpF24LpY

Shows: Making a Murderer just became my new favorite. Over the last few years, House, Dexter, The Office, 30 Rock, Cosmos, Breaking Bad, and I'm sure a few others I'm forgetting

Music: Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, anything by any member of Genesis. Pretty much anything with a good piano or keyboard in it.

Food: I'm not a picky eater. I'll try anything once.
The six things I could never do without
The beach, buds, beer and babes. This list is brought to you by the letter "B".
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...what my office cat does on the weekend when no one is around. I'm guessing drug-fueled cat orgies.
On a typical Friday night I am
After work beers with one friend or another, or maybe going to the gym for a while followed by Netflix at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
You should message me if
If you enjoyed the blizzard at home with Netflix and would like to have someone there to enjoy the next blizzard with you.
