My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there, I'm David. I'm a very open and mellow person, but also have this really quick-witted and playfully sarcastic style of humor that most people find endearing. Either that or they avoid me because they're no match for my intellectual prowess.

My friends would probably say that I'm the funniest of our group. They wouldn't say I'm the smartest, but that's because they're all too egotistical to give that title to anyone other than themselves.

Overall I'm generally a happy person, but not like those overly uber-smiley people that you just wanna punch in the face sometimes since they're always smiling at everything for no apparent reason. I'm more like =) rather than =D

On a less silly note, I'd like to think of myself as peaceful and non-confrontational, and I try my best to be understanding and non-judgmental towards others. Also, I don't feel a need to be right all the time. Like if I've been proven wrong, I'll admit it, or if there's strong differences of opinion, I'll accept that. I don't like pushing my opinions on others because most people get defensive and upset, rather than change their views just because you want them to. It's better to accept people for who they are. =)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a Software Developer for the State of Hawaii. It's a fun job, well, at least I think so. Going through thousands of lines of computer code every day isn't for everyone, but I like it. Yeah, I know, I'm a nerd, but I've come to terms with it.

My current hobbies include playing poker, going hiking, doing community service/socials with the Jaycees, reading books that I borrow from the library, food shopping in Chinatown and hanging out with friends. I also listen to "This American Life", "RadioLab", NPR news shows, and other random public radio shows a lot while playing Words with Friends or other time wasting games on my phone.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm also good at fixing problems and minor inconveniences at my work desk. I use tape, rubber bands, napkins, rulers, clothespins, paper clips, plastic bags, cardboard, and other assorted items. I've created a hanger for my my headset, kept cords from getting tangled, stabilized my pull-out desk tray (and making it into an arm rest), made a stand for holding papers upright, and stopped my computer's awkwardly designed air vents from being blocked, yeah.

I prefer reading and listening to radio/podcast stories to TV, since the pictures are better =). I love almost any non-fiction book, and prefer it over fiction since real life stories are far more interesting!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about the brain, and why we do what we do, and what influences our thought process.

Currently, I'm spending a lot of time thinking about why there are so many conflicts in the Middle East. I think I figured out the basics, but it'll take about half an hour to explain.

Oh, and I also think a lot about Epigenetics. If you look into what it is (or ask me about it), you'll spend a lot of time thinking about it too, I guarantee it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As a child, I heard about the idea of having imaginary friends and thought it was a cool concept. So I tried to think up imaginary friends, but I was too ambitious and created too many friends and couldn't remember all their names and personalities. Plus having to think up both sides of a conversation was a bit tedious, so I gave up on the idea.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you're a good sport about jokes because I have to be able to make fun of you, and you have to be able to make fun of me or else we're not going to be that close. Also, if you can be silly and playful but also be contemplative and philosophical, then we'll probably get along really well. =)

Also, my friends are very ambitious and sometimes discuss plans to take over the world. On the off chance they succeed, you should message me if you would like to reserve your own country.
