I am a teacher by day, apartment musician, and an aspiring writer.

My Self-Summary

I'm looking to meet new people and get out of my apartment. I have some tattoos.
I like body mods.
My current guilty pleasure is "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas.
I have a demented, sarcastic, bizarre sense of humor.
I skipped 7th grade, but now I teach it.
I love my job. I love my kids. 90 best 7th Graders there are.
I try to be a writer and musician and I love to share my work and experience others' work. Let's share!

I have a lot of my music and writing online. If you want to know where it is, just ask. Also, I'm currently looking to start a two-piece band. If you want to be the other piece, let me know.

What I’m doing with my life

I teach full time. I go to Grad School full time. It's tough. I get busy. Sometimes my head explodes. It can get messy.

I’m really good at

daydreaming about being an under-appreciated writer. I love writing poetry. I'm also good at wishing I was a little known yet well traveled musician. I'm also really good at nicknames and pet names, and love getting/giving them. I have obscure nicknames for a lot of my friends, and generally I'm the only one that calls them by it. It makes life a little more fun.

The first things people usually notice about me

is my tattoos or my dreadlocks.

(author's note: this is a really weird question, I feel.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
Anything by Saul Williams, Chuck Palahniuk, Bill Simmons, Maggie Estep, I majored in English in college so I've done a lot of reading. I could try to be pretentious like a lot of other people on here and list off the books I've read, but I'm lazy.

Movies:
Johnny motherlovin' Depp. Christopher Guest. I tend to like comedies over other movies. Goodfellas is better than the Godfather. Get over it.

Music:
Saddle Creak Records, Team Love Records and related acts (Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Cursive, The Faint, Two Gallants, Criteria, Tilly and the Wall, Desaparecidos, Monsters of Folk, The Good Life, Ladyfinger, Tokyo Police Club) The Matches, Cobalt and the Hired Guns, Mickey Avalon, MC Homeless, They Might Be Giants, Ceschi, David Ramos, Tapes n Tapes, Brand New, Less Than Jake, Jimmy Eat World, Kiss Kiss, Atmosphere, Nice Peter, Existereo, Dirt Nasty, Andre Legacy, Andrew Bird, Motion City Soundtrack, Mindless Self Indulgence, Sage Francis, Pinhead Gunpowder, Skeletonbreath, Immortal Technique, The Presidents Of The United States Of America, Whole Wheat Bread, Something Corporate, Weezer, Ween, Anti-Flag, NoFX, Capgun Coup, Rage Against the Machine, The Fratellis, Kimya Dawson, MC Chris, Against Me!, Saul Williams, Beardo, Say Anything, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Say Hi, Cold War Kids, Atmosphere, The Hold Steady, but basically I listen to every band you do.

Food:
My favorite restaurant is Chipotle. Living in NYC there's always a ton of restaurants to go through, but I always seem to end up at the same ones.

And I know TV isn't on here, but I like a few random TV shows (Seinfeld, Simpsons, Arrested Development, Mr. Show, Fawlty Towers, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and really fucking hate Flight of the Conchords.

The six things I could never do without

Originally I had a lot of electronics on this list, and that made me feel like I'm too "plugged in", but it's true. If I were to lose my phone I'd die, so here is an updated version:

1. iphone
2. friends
3. guitar
4. pens and paper
5. macbook
6. ice trays

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I want to be when I grow up; random lines of poetry that get stuck in my head; little guitar riffs that i repeat over and over; how badass i look sleeping in a wave cap and breathe-right strip

On a typical Friday night I am

it really depends. Sometimes I'm quiet at home recording music or writing. Sometimes out drinking and watching the Mets game, or hanging out with friends. I love live music, even if I don't know any of the bands. I'm game for anything anymore.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Since I was kid I've had these dreams about dying in the driver's seat of a car, so I've never learned to drive.

You should message me if

you want to hang out or talk or pass some time. I'm nice, and not nearly as scary as I probably seem. I swear. Also, I'm not a creep or rapist, although saying that probably makes you think I am. I'm not. I promise.

Also, I'm not really going to message anyone anymore. I'm tired of sending out messages it took me 20 minutes to write and not even getting a polite response back. So, if you want to talk, please message me. Because in reality, I'm shy. So it might take me a few visits to your page to get up the courage to message you.
