I am Atypical, gregarious, and smrt.

My Self-Summary

A not-so-average single chica making her way in the universe. I consider myself fun-loving, laidback, cute, and intelligent. I'm originally from the South, so pardon the accent. Without elaborating too terribly much, I have an eclectic world view and a social conscience.

I'm definitely a bbw, and though I'm getting healthier and losing weight, I'll always be a curvy wench. So if that's your type of woman, you're in luck. LOL

Oh, I also love geeky things like Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Serenity, and Lord of the Rings.

I spent the first 22 years of life in Arkansas, and I have a degree in philosophy and religion from Hendrix College. I also attended Yale Divinity School for over a year -- it burned me out, though, and I didn't finish my degree. I went on to get a certificate in graphic design and have been working at that for going on ten years now. My dream of becoming a sci-fi/fantasy illustrator is still sitting on the shelf, and I'm eyeing it quite hard. I'm likely going to move northward to the Portland area in the near future, if all goes well! *crosses fingers*

I'm the quiet type who will shock you with a good, loud laugh when something strikes me as particularly funny. I'm patient, opinionated, smart and spiritual (but I trust science, spiritual is a personal thing and there is no one single TRUTH). I'm also lazy, overweight, a bit slobby, daydreamy, horny, and a complete pothead.

I try hard to be drama-free, and avoid it as much as possible. Life is just too short to sweat the small stuff, so I also tend not to hang with people who fret all the time, diss on other people or take everything as a personal affront. I tend to get along best and show my truest self toward other intelligent, thoughtful, liberal folks. I live in the moment, meditate when I can, and generally focus on having a positive attitude toward life. I believe in building up good karma and avoiding the bad, and even though I might not be best buddies with incompatible people, I have a lot of compassion and understanding towards all Earth's creatures -- even them. All this aside, I still have my rough days when the stress can get to me. I've found that friends are the best remedy for dragging me out of my hermit cave.

Importantly, I am an animal nut, creepy crawlies as well as cute and cuddlies. :D I have three beautiful cats, and hope to add to that collection (a dog would be nice!). Yeah, someday I want to have a family and all that jazz, however I can't see myself living a total ordinary life. I'd love to travel the world! But not by myself. :)

What I’m doing with my life

Reconsidering everything.

I’m really good at

digital art, portraits, Macs, rooting for the Red Sox, providing food and shelter for my three cats.

The first things people usually notice about me

larger gal -- with a nice smile!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm not a typical TV viewer, but there are some things I really enjoy watching. Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Battlestar Galactica, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Meerkat Manor, Dog Whisperer, South Park, National Geographic -- anything that is gonna teach me something about the world I didn't already know, or make me laugh my ass off.

Eclectic music tastes, with a soft spot for singer/songwriter types, indie, bluegrass, folk. Indigo Girls, Coldplay, Ryan Adams, Neil Young, Annie Lennox, Nirvana, Counting Crows, U2, Beastie Boys, Brandi Carlile, Green Day, Dave Matthews Band, Patsy Cline, Dropkick Murphys, Jeff Buckley, Paul Simon, Alanis, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline...

I am madly in love/lust with Harry Dresden from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series of books -- if you haven't read them, GO DO IT NOW!!! :) Confederacy of Dunces, Mists of Avalon, Wicked, Vonnegut, classic literature, Joseph Campbell, Thich Nhat Hanh, history, mythology, non-fiction.

Star Wars, LOTR, Big Fish, Moulin Rouge, Life Aquatic, Dr. Strangelove, Slingblade (hey, it was filmed in my hometown!), Kevin Smith, Bill Murray, Johnny Depp, Peter Sellers, Steve Carrell, Paul Ruud, Cate Blanchett, Simon Pegg, Gabriel Byrne, Anthony Hopkins, John Turturro, Emily Watson, Kate Winslet, Christian Bale, Claire Danes, Coen Brothers, Nicole Kidman, Eddie Izzard, William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Mark Hamill, James MacAvoy, Alan Cumming, Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson, Jessica Lange, Billy Bob Thornton...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how I shouldn't think so hard

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I think I already admitted it... better go re-read!

You should message me if

You wanna make a new friend. :D
