I am Fun, Friendly, and oddly shy!.
My Self-Summary
OK Total Revamp time!
I'm a very - Live for the Now - kind of person.
I don't think there's much point in living life unless you're
actually LIVING it!
That can (and often does) mean random trips to random places,
random text messages from me that simply state "PUB?", and normally
(and most importantly) lots of good times, and giggles!
I've been known to write a little prose, actually wrote a novel on
one occasion - more of a way to recycle thoughts floating in my
mind! I also dabble in a little poetry and the like, I like to
think it's a good way to relieve stress, and sometimes is the only
way to really get a message across.
Moving on from this however, I can be a very broody and shy kind of
guy depending on the mood. Something I managed to get very good at
when I first moved to the Netherlands from England almost a year
ago. I make new friends very easily, and I'm told I'm quite a fun
person to have around, but you have to do the first move kinda
thing. Unless you really want to be talking to a slavering, tounge
tied loon. But like I said, once we get past the initial 10 mins,
it's normally like we're best mates!
Spare time for me is normally devoted to running around propping up
John Mullins Irish Bar in Maastricht, or terrorising plants with my
EOS 50D Camera! I should probably get round to posting some images
one of these days, assuming anyone is interested.
Aside from the camera, the beer, the pubbing and general fun times,
I work a lot, too hard I've been told, and do have a tendency to
burn out on occasion, but that, I suppose is normal considering the
type of job I do. Of course the best solution to that is a cup of
Tea, and a BIG hug, cause we all love hugs!
Now in Dutch
I only turned on Dutch content to help me learn some more of the
langauge, so sorry, no Nederlands from me - I live here, but really
don't speak enough of it :)
What I’m doing with my life
Not much to be honest!
Like I mentioned before, Living here in Maastricht, generally
spending a year of 'downtime' before I really drive myself forward
again and settle (i hope) here properly.
Living in a nice shared house, so not many bills, and not many
responsibilities at the moment, which is always nice. Roll on
December or so however, when it's pay off the Overdraft, and start
saving for my own apartment somewhere in Maastricht, or at least
close to it!
Generally living life day in day out, and hoping that I enjoy
whatever life throws at me!
I’m really good at
Well not sure If I would say REALLY good, but I'm a fair
photographer, and I love to design things, Adobe is like my God at
times!
I find nothing better than stalking a bee as it flys from flower to
flower, still not managed to get the shot I want yet, although I
have managed to get some amazing shots in the mean time!
I've been told (literally by the guy next to me at work) that I'm
actually really good at making people laugh and cheering them
up!
Now that's one I DIDN'T know!
But thinking about it, I really dislike seeing friends being upset,
depressed that sort of thing. I pick up emotions from people very
easily, and of course, if a friend is depressed then it depresses
me also!
The first things people usually notice about me
Well I'm not sure seeing as I have never managed to meet myself in
the street, but being in The Netherlands, I would imagine a good
start would be my height as I'm only 5"7' (approx. 172cm i think -
but don't quote me on it, I don't DO metric yet), failing that, it
may be the permanent camera bag with me.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Well - books:
Lord of the
Rings,
The Riftwar Saga,
Tom Clancy,
David Eddings,
The
Silmarillion,
Stephen King,
Tolstoy, in fact anything that can
keep me occupied and I can find in english! Mainly
fantasy/sci-fi/crime/thrillers etc.
Films: Way too many to list I think, mainly
Science Fiction and good old man
films like
James
Bond and
Arnold Schwarzennegger.
Bit cliche I know but my testosterone must get its weekly dose of
televised violence and explosions :D
Music: Eclectic!
Rock,
Dance,
Stoner Punk,
Grunge. You name it and I
probably have it/listened to it! As long as its not too
Pop-esque.
Food: Again a lot, cant beat a good
[pizza though ;)
The six things I could never do without
Hmm, well mainly:
My Friends: I don't have many, but the ones I have I treat like
family.
My Job: As i work with my friends, so normally more fun is had -
and of course it pays the bills!
My Camera: I love it soooo much!
My PC: Yes I'm a PC Buff!
My Phone: Well it's my only point of contact with the UK, and ofc
my lovely friends \o/
....and finally
Pizza! No idea why but I LOVE pizza!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Thinking? I do that way too often, normally thinking up new
hairbrained schemes to make money!
Shame none of them work!
Other than that, I dont think at all really - if you think to much
you never get anything done!
On a typical Friday night I am
No such thing as a Typical night out!
But as a rule, John Mullins normally gets my patronage.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I won't admit anything in public but here's the deal.
You can ask me ONE question, to my inbox, anything about me you
like, and I promise an honest answer.
My question to you is, do you have the guts to put the same
statement on your profile?
You should message me if
Well I suppose if you feel like it!
Anyone willing to grab a beer in Maastricht, wants to tell me more
about the place, or hell just fancies a chat I suppose. I usually
reply a lot, but between 0900 and 1730 CET I wont be IM-able as
I'll be at work :)
Now in Dutch
Je daar zin in hebt :)
