My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I thought to myself that I should finally update some of this profile...and I find myself unable to settle on what to say. I've been a geek of some sort my whole life, and a passionate one at that. I am found quoting movies and tv shows all at the same time. My family and friends often text me with random pop culture questions.

I've also been a story teller my whole life. As a kid I wrote plays I forced my cousins to act out in and now as an adult I'm writing short stories, screenplays, and various other things to try to satisfy that itch.

I also just enjoy talking with people. I love a great discussion and/or debate. It can be about previously mentioned pop culture or things like politics or social change.

I try to be a conscious consumer of the media I watch. Which basically means I care deeply about how women, minorities, and alternative sexualities are represented in movies, television, comics, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working on my MA in literature at Cal Poly Pomona while constantly having existential crises about this idea.

I'm between work right now, but actively looking. The job market just kind of sucks right now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Quizzing people with random movie and tv trivia. It's a thing I do a lot. Like a lot a lot.

I am also excellent at laughing. No it's a skill okay, I am really good at it.

I'm told I'm also pretty good at analyzing media and literature critically. A friend is trying to get me to start up a blog to put up some of my essays and papers on it, it's a thing I'm considering.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes. Or my hair. Sometimes my cheekbones. These are all my best facial features.

It used to be more consistently my hair but I haven't had it a crazy color in a while.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: My list could go on forever, really. But some current favorites include:

The Scott Pilgrim Series, Franny and Zooey, A Streetcar Named Desire (Okay, a play, but I love reading it so, it totally counts), The Weetzie Bat Books, Mirror Mirror, Choke, She's Come Undone, Waiting for The Barbarians, Looking for Alaska (and anything else by John Green), Room, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Mists of Avalon, Tiger Eyes, The Last Unicorn, House of Leaves, Shade's Children, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Bell Jar, Lolita, White Cat and many, many more. I have a particular weakness for YA fiction. I also love comics/graphic novels. I'm more a DC girl than a Marvel one, but I also like a lot of independent stuff.

Movies: Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine, Closer, Dogma, But I'm A Cheerleader, almost any oldschool Disney Princess movie (Especially the Little Mermaid!), Batman Begins, Good Dick, The Hangover, Puccini For Beginners, Interview With A Vampire, Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind, Once, The Muppets, Melancholia, Pitch Perfect, The Artist, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Drop Dead Gorgeous, the Heathers, Clueless, Requiem for a Dream and many more..

TV Shows: Veronica Mars, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, Friends, Community, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Dollhouse, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel The Series, Castle, Chuck, The Simpsons, Drawn Together, Firefly, Titus, Xena: The Warrior Princess, Friday Night Lights, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Endings, Roseanne, Nikita, Awkward, White Collar, Once Upon a Time, Futurama, Adventure Time, Hey! Arnold, Teen Wolf, New Girl, Portlandia, Friday Night Lights, Bob's Burgers and many, many more.

Music: Let's see what I can remember on top of my head: Tori Amos, showtunes, Ani Difranco, Brand New, VNV Nation, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Alanis Morrisette, Seether, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, Rasputina, The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer, Simon and Garfunkel, U2, R.E.M., The Beatles, Nirvana, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Florence and the Machine, Marina and the Diamonds, Mumford and Sons, Stars, Pink, Tilly and the Wall, Placebo, Janis Joplin, Marina and the Diamonds, Mumford and Sons, Natalia Kills, Sleater-Kinney, X, The National and a lot, a lot more.

e) I like most food, but I am a particular fan of Japanese, Mexican, and Italian food. I'll try just about anything once though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
movies, music, books, my friends, the internet, and my dog
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How long I can put a task off, to be honest. I can be a bit of a procrastinator, but I always get things done in the end!

I also think a lot about what I'm going to do with my life. Is an MA enough? Will I be content just teaching high school or community college? Do I want to get a PhD so I can teach in a university as well?

The answers to these questions change on a day to day basis.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At the movies or on my computer, usually. Sometimes playing a video game, if I really feel like spicing things up. I could also be reading a book or hanging out with friends. I love going out for karaoke or bowling, if the mood strikes.

I love going to live theater but don't do it as much as I'd like.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't drive.

I also don't have a whole lot of dating experience which I know isn't something everyone wants to deal with. So I guess I should put it out there, save us both some trouble.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you want more than a hook up. If you're going to message me with something more than just "hey, beautiful" or "how are u?" (also please spell out the word you, it's only three letters). I'd like a little bit of substance, it shows effort.
