My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'd like to think of myself as a very versatilely interested person. Some of my friends find me quite analytical and self-reflective. And some describe me as very compassionate, warm-hearted and supporting. Both allows me to connect rather easily to other people.

I guess I am more of an intellectual person with whom you can talk about everything - from philosophy and politics to music and movies. At the same time I am also quite an emotional person and I deeply care about the things and the people around me. I put the world at the feet of the ones that I love.

I just moved from Berlin to California (January 2014). It's a dream come true. Even though I have only been here for such a short time, I enjoy it so much. People are incredibly nice and supportive, the weather is just beautiful as is the area. It almost feels like an every-day vacation. Right now I am getting settled, exploring places around me and looking for new friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Since I finished my master's degree in IT systems engineering I have been working for a major German IT company as a software engineer, developer, trainer and coach. I like having a variety of topics and tasks at my hand and I am often also in an advisory and coaching role.

When I am not working, I am usually engaged in various indoor and outdoor activities. It really depends on my mood. I can be out cycling or hiking, or at home cooking or watching a movie, reading a book, or listening to podcasts. (Though I should honestly say that I am not out and about every day)

My close friends are most precious to me. I try to meet them as often as possible and spend time together, whether it's the weekly movie night, or going on trips together, or just exploring what is around us.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- expressing what other people think
- explaining the world to you
- baking and eating chocolate cake
- listening to and comforting people
- cuddling (and I don't mean casually, or with friends)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My European clothing style. And probably also that I tend to swim against the current some of the time ;) For example, I just recently got my driver's license.

Something else that usually becomes obvious very quickly: I am a vegetarian. But I am not evangelistic about it. In general, I tend to be quite idealistic, for example I have a strong preference for organic and fair trade products. I make an effort to live sustainable and ecologically aware. I am trying to make the world a better place, be a role model for others, but I don't judge other people for not following the same ideals.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
All time favorites:
- Harry Potter (both books and movies)
- The Lord of the Rings (isn't it awesome?!)

Books: There are times when I read a lot. Fantasy, fiction (including gay fiction), biographies, science books. A few books that I did enjoy reading right off my mind:
- Randy Pausch: The Last Lecture
- Andre Aciman: Call me by your name

Movies: I like a great variety of movies, comedies, dramas, science fiction. I am not much into horror and excessive action though. And now that I can enjoy the wonders of Netflix, I am watching movies and TV shows on a more regular basis. The last good movie that I have seen was The Giver. I never had the chance to read the book, but the movie was definitely good.

Music: I guess my music taste is somewhat unclassifiable. It really depends on my mood. There is almost no genre I don't listen to. And there is hardly an artist or composer of whom I like everything. I really like movie soundtracks. If you know Sam Tsui, Tim Bendzko, Ed Sheeran, Phoenix, Wolf Gang, then you have some idea of what I like :) But I am always open to new things.

My favorite food: broccoli pasta casserole. And chocolate cake. And chocolate ice cream ;) And chocolate! I love to cook and bake. One of my favorite deserts recently: Oatmeal Cranberry Walnut Cookies.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
chocolate, music, friends, love, my bed *comfy*, the Internet :)
(not in that particular order)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the world around me, my friends, my feelings ... What does other people motivate? What do other people think in a certain situation ..
