I'm tall. I'm hilarious. I read a lot. I sing. I'm funny. I'm kind of a cat whisperer, they really dig me. I'm comical. I like playing guitar. I'm a goofball. I like to create. Is there such a thing as laughter whisperer? Because if there is I'm totally that. An interesting aspect about being a laughsperer(totally legitimate technical term that I just made up)is that people's reactions are generally obnoxiously loud, uncontrollable fits of chortling interspersed with varying amounts of hilarious adjectives, depending on the breadth of your vocabulary. If you don't like it, then go not laugh somewhere else, perhaps standing in the corner of a circular room. You can rejoin the class after you think about what you did there, and why a keen sense of humor is compulsory in this school.
What I’m doing with my life
Wait a minute, the last time I edited this, there weren't any hints directing one how to approach a given field...
I used to exist, now I live. I work, I play, I read, I draw, I paint, and most importantly, I make people laugh.
I’m really good at
Reading books. Eating food. Sleeping. Making people laugh. Playing the guitar and singing....SIMULTANEOUSLY. When writing, I'm good at toeing the line between the... unhinged verbosity of a raving supervillain in a diatribe giving a detailed description to the captured hero of his brilliant master plan to rule the world, when clearly, he doesn't have the time and killing the hero immediately is obviously in his best interest, instead of assuming that the long convoluted sequence of events orchestrated to destroy his nemesis, with ample time and opportunity for the hero to make his escape, will totally work, THIS TIME...and the just short of insufferable, colorfully descriptive prose of someone just returning from chasing butterflies on a field trip to the laugh factory. Almost forgot, I've also mastered the art of creating ridiculously long euphemisms which may or may not be abstracts of my stream of consciousness. Recently I've recently rediscovered an old passion, drawing and painting, and other artistic mediums. That passion has been getting hotter and hotter, and I've been standing in the fire.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, and the likelihood that I was on basketball teams in the past, because all tall people play basketball, apparently. My silliness and intelligence, and possibly that I'm a little crazy, but in a good way. Perhaps my eyes if they're in close enough proximity, and have a fondness for the color green. Did I mention I'm funny? Because I totally am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I go thru phases with books, but I prefer non-fiction. Anything about space, physics(all of it), science in general, comparative religion...along those lines. I'll occasionally read an actual novel too, and short story collections(sci-fi anthologies are one of my favorites).
Movies, not too picky about, I'll watch pretty much anything.
Don't watch a lot of tv, but when I do I like travel shows(Zimmern and Bourdain rule!!), history and science.
Music? Well, what's not to like? They don't provide enough characters for me to talk about how much I love music. As far as I'm concerned, music IS life. Listening to it, playing it, singing it, losing yourself in it. Music is paramount. Some samples in my current rotation...Tommy Emmanuel, Dan Deacon, Jamiroquai, Dethklok, Pink Floyd, Reggie Watts, QOTSA, COC, Earth Wind & Fire, Incubus, The Baby's, Drive By Truckers, Level 42, Wilco, Alison Kraus, Puscifer, Beastie Boys, Janes Addiction, Justin Timberlake, The Lonely Island, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, The Shins, Foxygen, Tame Impala, 311, G Love & Special Sauce, Nick Drake, Neil Young, Dee-Lite, B-52's, Chicago, Steely Dan, Suicidal Tendencies, Wyclef Jean, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Spoon, My Morning Jacket, The Killers, Cake.
I like most food, and I'll try anything. A couple exceptions would be liver and Korean food, because I've tried both and they're disgusting. If there is such a thing as Korean liver, it would be my least favorite. I enjoy cooking, and I'm pretty good at it, because combining art and science is a win win.
The six things I could never do without
My daughter, family, music, hope, laughter, and I'm pretty fond of animals, my meowface Paczki in particular.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music. Art. Expression. Tolerance. Good humor and the importance of laughter. The big picture and it's associated mysteries.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with family or reading a book, preferably a good one. A good book, if that wasn't clear, not family. Although I'm not against a good family either.
Perhaps I'm fingering my guitar and trying to write a little ditty.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love to use soap when I bathe. Why didn't someone tell me about
Also, I just found out recently that I'm part Jewish so, I'm
feeling a little farklempt...talk amongst yourselves for a
moment...here's a topic - the color seafoam green, are you in?
You should message me if
...you like men who can hold serious conversations, or just be silly and make you laugh, are unconcerned with what others think of my ridiculousness, because if you can't laugh at yourself then you aren't really living. Know how to express themselves and aren't afraid to do it...you want to make new, interesting friendships, which could potentially lead to more, but with no unrealistic expectations for the future. If it's there it's there, if not, well, how else to find out? Don't let my awesomeness and the weird male/female status quo on dating sites prevent you from messaging me if you're interested...also, you can get by my sometimes excessive use of ellipses...
