What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just moved here ... Spent the last 12 years in NY (between Miami and NY for the last 2) ... I work pretty long hours during the week and spend my nights making dinner and apologizing to my dog for being gone all day by going on walking adventures. I spend my weekends on art, hiking, family and activism.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, bullshitting, my job, art
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You would have to ask them, probably my glasses or my wood plugs ... Unless I forgot to wear pants, then they would probably notice that I wasn't wearing any pants ... Note to self: Even though you can't see them in the bathroom mirror, it is always important to remember your pants.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: well I guess authors would be easier: Bernard Moitessier, Haruki Murakami, Mike Kelley, Imre Kertész, Susan Sontag, Patti Smith, Robert Smithson, Neil Gaimen, Naomi Klein, Hunter Thompson, Matt Taibbi, Dave Hickey, Jeff Lemire ... I generally go through fazes where I just read the paper, then I'll stop paying attention to the news for a couple weeks and read a book or a graphic novel, then back to the paper. Right now I'm into memoirs of great single-handed sailors.

Movies: Coen Brother movies are at the top of the list, Snatch, the Guard, Repo Man (the 80's punk one by Alex Cox), Jim Jarmush, True Stories by David Byrne, Canadian Bacon (anything John Candy), the Jerk, , Wes Anderson, Pans Labyrinth, Labyrinth, Rats of NIMH, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Goonies, Stand By Me, The Shining

Music: Soul, Rock, Folk, Hip Hop, Classical, Metal. I love old mono recordings, NY hip hop and Midwestern Soul and Rock n' Roll I also listen to a lot of podcasts.

Favorite song to serenade a beautiful plate of nachos with: I Believe in Miracles by Hot Chocolate

Food ... I love food
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Dog, friends, family, nature, culture, witnessing/experiencing new things
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The Arts, Plants excluding ones with thorns, Religion, Entropy, Politics, Friends, Work, Public Spaces and Design .... I'm also pretty good at making space in my media-horder brain to think about nothing at all.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really keep anything private. My moral compass generally guides me in the direction I want to go in. I have conviction in my beliefs, and while I've certainly done things I'm not proud of, I have no problem talking about them.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you want to, just please don't send messages that just say hi or what's up. It's similar to giving me a thing of dental floss and asking me to hang a killer whale off your ceiling with it. Every time, I'll just raise an eyebrow and draw a blank expression on my face.... Unless your profile includes pictures of you taking down said killer whale with your bare hands. Then by all means, message me whatever you want, just leave the poor whale alone. Serious ... we're all friends here, cummon dude, be cool ;)
