*I live in NJ, but only a short PATH ride from NYC, and I am in pretty often. Like right now. There I am walking down the street. You didn't see me..? Ahh, I am a master of disguise, you'll have to be quicker next time... Get over the NJ bias, NY-ers. You can get to my apartment quicker from Manhattan than you can many parts of Brooklyn.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Growing up, I had a devout love of the arts, and when it came to college there was really no other choice but to follow that passion through. After working primarily as a graphic designer following graduation, I delved back into academia to pursue a Masters in Art Education at...

Wait... this isn't a job interview...? Ohh...

Well then, what I'm doing with my life is simple:
I'm in the pursuit of happiness, and striving to leave the world a
better place.

...but if you must know, I am a high school art teacher at a north NJ school. I absolutely love it.
Reviews from my students include:
"You're a good teacher."
"It's been a pleasure working with you, sir."
"Why do you have to leave?!" *falls to the floor*
"The consensus is that you're a boss."
"I got you donuts."
(All of which are direct quotes!)

I pursue my own art/illustration/design in my down time. I used to work full-time as a graphic designer but found my ethics got in the way of making money I could live off of in that field.

I love to travel, and lived in London for three years.
I've been to a total of 18 states, 16 countries, 3 continents, and one British territory.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making art. Teaching kids and adults.
Visual/spatial thinking – I'm the go-to guy for packing U-Hauls.
Making friends, getting people involved, and bringing them together.
Making people laugh, lightening a mood, being silly.
Imitating that actor, singer, politician, or friend's voice.
Building and fixing things.
Solving puzzles.
Buying/making the perfect gift.

I'm a patient person (hence the teaching, I suppose), which I credit to my Grandfather who, when I was little, would sit and build Lego with me on Christmas Day while all the adults were talking and having drinks and whatnot. Gramps was also a teacher. Who'd a thunk?

Basically, I'm a handsome bundle of fun. The only people that don't like me are a**holes. And even the a-holes acquiesce that I'm pretty great. I'm also more modest than I may be coming off.. ha.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Even my optometrist tells me my blue eyes are striking.
Sly smirk, how I have every color of the beard rainbow.

Affability, & sense of humor.

People here have been telling me some of my answers to the Questions were humorous... check 'em out!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a culture buff, but not a snob. I'm always open to new stuff, and like to take my time getting to know a record or a book.

Here's a sampling...

on the shelf...
Primarily fiction, short fiction, art books, comics/graphic novels, and various non-fiction/science that sound fascinating but I never finish. Plus education and psychology books.

Pete & Pete, Arrested Development, Venture Bros, Community, Parks and Rec, Game of Thrones, Louie, Breaking Bad, The Americans.
True Detective is blowing me away right now...

from the speakers...
British rock, well-written lyrics, heart-wrenching blues and soul, haunting instrumentals, a great melody, a funky bass line, clever rhymes wrapped around a rhythm, sprawling soundscapes, intricate arrangements, live jazz, chunky and fuzzy/ballsy riffs.. these are what pull me in. Also, I'm a sucker for female vocalists.

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends. I'm pretty much up for anything... A sampling:

Live music of The Ettes at the Mercury Lounge. Seeing The Wrestler at Sunshine Cinema. Grabbing a drink & bite with friends at Wildwood BBQ. NYC adventuring to the MoMA. Watching my brother/his friends do stand-up at the Comedy Cellar. Going for a hike in Hacklebarney Park. On a trip somewhere to Upstate NY, Philly, VT, all-continent and international. Arting around by myself or with friends. Or just unwinding at home with a good book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
On occasion – my shirt may match my underwear,
and yet my socks may not match each other.
