I am lazy, hedonistic, and affectionate.

My Self-Summary

"All I can say is that my life is pretty plain / I like watching the puddles gather rain. / And all I can do is just pour some tea for two and speak my point of view but it's not sane."

I'm particularly fond of the spices cilantro and cinnamon, and most of my favourite dishes involve both. I love animals, particularly furry mammals, including rats, cats, and (preferably big mutty) dogs. I listen to most kinds of music, including country and rap; I only play folk. I have a pleasant speaking voice, but I cannot possibly convey the horror of my singing in written words.

What I’m doing with my life

I went to school, but then I stopped to help with my family. It is better than not taking care of your family, but still, one of the reasons I am not having children is so nobody ever has to take care of me.

(Which is pretty scary if you think about it, isn't it?)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I had too much stuff here, and okCupid occasionally just ate random parts of my profile anyway, so as a general rule, I like things that are cute and evil. I like fantasy stories that are sweet and wicked, I like movies which are pretty and violent. Also, I like music that you would not like.

However, I am currently re-reading Kipling (racist, imperialist and lots of other ists as well, but he uses language beautifully), _Sabriel_ by Garth Nix (mmm, bells and necromancy!) and reading _The End of Mr. Y_. Which seems interesting enough, so far.

You can listen to a collection of music which, if not necessarily my favourites, are songs which I have listened to obsessively over and over until they are the most played songs on Mirkwood, my ipod. Update: Unfortunately, no you can't; muxtape is kaput.

Probably the most distinctive thing about my cooking is a mild tendency to overuse fish sauce (how can something that smells so awful taste so good?) and put peanut butter in things inappropriately.

Whether any of this is actually my "favourite" anything depends on what I am currently listening to (Warren Zevon) or eating (a York klondike)...

The six things I could never do without

music, water, music, food, music, air... or maybe a towel

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Currently, dulcimer music, particularly what I can do to make The Wabash Cannonball sound really cool. It's a bit of a new experience for me, since it's played in a Mixolydian tuning rather than my normal but lamentably unfashionable Ionian one, so I don't know the chords, and while I think it would work really well with a very rythmic flatpicking style, that isn't my strong point.

Oh well, new stuff, eh?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Apparently, I like Duran Duran. Also, I'm racist. According to this (http://www.understandingprejudice.org/iat/racframe.htm) site, I have a "Moderate Preference for African-American." I wonder if this is why several people have thought I looked like Spike Lee? For the record, I'm mostly German and Scots-Irish. No, I don't really know why I have slanty eyes, either. Computers think I look like Leslie Cheung. Isn't genetics wonderful?

You should message me if

You want to tell me what music I should listen to, you want me to tell you what music you should listen to, or you want to play Civilization. I prefer Civ2 although civ4 is ok too. You can message me here, or on icq (10011171) or aim (teemeye). Or, really, you can message me for any reason, so long as you don't mind being quoted Richard Thompson or Warren Zevon songs, randomly.
