systematic, crafty, and curvy
My self-summary Propose an edit
i'm an artist but i'm not the kind that just talks about art. it's
not really who i am it's only a facet of me. i shop at thrift
stores far too much. i'm thrifty. i like to reinvent stuff i find.
i'm interested in the past when craftmanship was a priority. i make
jewelry. people buy it. sustaining my boot collection by hocking
handmade wares..is sometimes necessary. www.myOlivette.etsy.com is
where you can find it along w/ some brick and mortar stores around
the country.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
eat..work...eat...work..eat..work...sleep. trying to fit more work
in my day.
little by little trying to cut out the bullshit and the
bullshitters.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
making stuff in exchange for money... it's highly motivating and
can get you out of a pinch. drawing. trying to look at everything
with a creative angle.
dropping people when i realize they are complete morons. and many
other things that don't involve money or making stuff.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
well, i don't know. i'm not them, but they may notice me sitting on
the cusp of drama, just watching and rolling my eyes. usually i'm
trying to avoid it. ..and i have a bit of a booty, but i've never
gotten a complaint.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
i love movies. i watch them all the time. most of the time, not in
their entirety. i'm still stuck on amelie. and its been quite a few
years. dan in real life was pretty good. does that make me
old?
conversations with other women, amelie, happy endings, lost in
translation, pecker, high fidelity, donny darko, royal tenenbaums,
secretary, girl with a pearl earring, bowling for columbine, almost
famous, big fish, closer, being john malkovich, mona lisa smile,
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, house of yes, slums of
beverly hills, best in show, valley girl, office space, frida,
adaptation, ghost world, pleasantville, baba yaga (old foreign and
creepily fantastic), fahrenheit 911, sicko, juno, john cusack
movies (old & new), patrick demsey movies (mostly old), and old
movies w/ hot starlettes in great clothes and cute hair.
i love my ipod and its random assortment of favorite songs but i'm
really bad at getting new music. not opposed to it, maybe i'm
lazy..or i'd rather buy boots.
music-wise i'm all over the place, otis redding, belle &
sebastien, alkaline trio, johnny cash, the shins, nancy sinatra,
mazzy star, (a few from) the cure, outkast, patsy cline, canyon,
byron lee and the dragonaires, cake, calexico, louis prima, modest
mouse, ray charles, that dog, weezer..to name a few
i like food too.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
my tobasco-colored lace up boots (more vintage, less
stripper)
ipod to drown out the day
a cold pillow
my curiosity
water, simple enough
my own space
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
making something. floorplans. design stuff. my mind tends to wander
a lot so i make random lists. small pieces of paper are left in my
wake.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
out with friends or hanging w/ family. saturdays i'll be out to
dinner then to the bar.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
i rock out in my car, but no air guitar! very much NOT a fan of the
air guitar. no one looks good doing it, not even musicians. but i'm
not afraid to look like a total dork singing alkaline trio songs at
the top of my lungs. it makes me happy albeit sweetly morbid for
the time being.
You should message me if Propose an edit
ehhh, i don't really care if you do or not. but if you can carry on
a decent conversation and have a non-forced witty side..i'm
listening.
