If you hate philosophic/spiritual discussions like this, you should probably move on. I'm kind of a lapsed Zen Buddhist, but I did write a book about it (I'll give you a signed copy if you're nice to me) (I have like five dozen unsold copies sitting in a box).
What else...sigh. Like Katy Jagger said in "All That Jazz" (another of my favorite movies): "I have no more small talk."
If I were a playlist, I would be:
"Thank U" (Alanis Morisette)
"Driven to Tears" (Police)
"How Long" (Jose Gonzalez)
"I've Had It" (Aimee Mann)
"Handbags and Gladrags" (Rod Stewart)
"Life a Ship Without a Sail" (Pastor TL Barrett and his Choir)
"Valentine's Day" (James Taylor)
"The Saturday Boy" (Billy Bragg)
"Hand in My Pocket" (Alanis again---oh dear)
Look, I'll come right out and say I'm recently divorced, yet but remain shamelessly (shamefully?) hopeful about finding a Ms Right. Ideally I'd like to find someone geekier than she looks with great laugh lines (verbal and facial).
I'm not much of an outdoorsman; as Woody Allen said, "I am at two with nature". I love walking and *gentle* hiking. I like to swim. I love beaches. I like to bike (though the pollution in T.O. makes it hard on my 'sensitive' lungs). I haven't travelled a lot but do enjoy it when I do, and I've read a lot about different parts of the world--people often *think* I've been someplace because I can talk in detail about it. My favorite city apart from Toronto is New York (it's a wonderful town--the Bronx is up and the Battery's down) and I hope one day to visit London, Paris, and Tokyo--also Australia, as my mom was born there.
Not much of a fashion plate but I clean up purdy, with guidance. I love to eat but I don't like to spend more time cooking than eating, unless I'm helping someone else. I'm a good chopper.
My passion is board games: not so much Monopoly, Risk, or Catan as Mage Knight, Netrunner, and Galaxy Trucker. I go out once or twice a week to meetup and play with friends. And before you ask if I've heard of Snakes Lattes, I'll tell you that I'm a 'preferred customer'.
So that's a glimpse of my various Selfs (Selves?); I look forward to catching a glimpse of yours.
