I'm a northerner by birth but currently living in a leafy North London suburb amongst the other young professionals. I work as a solicitor but am very much a work to live rather than a live to work person.

Music is my passion and I have played the drums for pretty much as long as I can remember. It's a hobby but also a part of my life and practising with the band, putting songs together and playing gigs has given me some fantastic experiences and stories to tell. There is nothing more satisfying than being on stage and seeing a crowd of people getting in to what you're doing (however small the crowd).

One of my bosses at work recently described me as 2/3 a drummer and 1/3 a lawyer. I am very happy about that and intend to keep it that way!

I've always been a fairly quiet person. I think it takes me a while to open up and show my inner party animal. Although it's definitely in there. I definitely like my own space at times but I have a very sociable side and am always up for a night out/adventure.

I spent a year travelling around the world and this has had a big effect on me. So many amazing experiences, so many memories... I recently rediscovered the travelling bug and travelled around Central America for 3 weeks. I love adventure and being on the road.

I have acquired a taste for extreme sports and love being active. A holiday just sitting on a beach is not for me. My last trip involved scuba diving escapades and mountain biking up a volcano.

In between working and playing the drums I try to fit in some exercise and head down the gym to work off the excesses of the weekend. I have some great friends so spend a lot of time with them.

I'm a very laidback person. I think I deal with stressful situations pretty well. Life's too short to get stressed.

Probably my youthful looks. Not so great when getting asked for ID all the time in my mid 20's but I'm not complaining now.

Favourite authors/books -Haruki Murakami, George Orwell, David Mitchell, Bret Easton Ellis, Jack Kerouac, Graham Greene, Charles Bukowski....I tend to get really into particular authors and read everything by them so any suggestions as to who to try next would be appreciated.

Favourite music - Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys], Led Zepellin, The Beatles, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Nada Surf, Teenage Fanclub, Vampire Weekend, Radiohead, Nirvana, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Midlake, Bombay Bicycle Club, Idlewild, Roddy Woomble, Deer Tick, Bon Iver.

Favourite movies - Donnie Darko, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Withnail and I, Napoleon Dynamite, Lost Boys, Juno, Before Sunrise, American Beauty...anything that makes me think or makes me laugh or occasionally blows my mind.

Favourite food - Practically anything: Thai, Indian (pushing the chilli boundaries until I almost explode), Chinese, Italian, Spanish...
