I'm a self-styled nerd, father of two (... he who puts the toys
together gets to play with them first!). There's a good chance if
it's something you'd consider "geeky" that I've done it or have
given it serious thought. I love to read (science fiction), write
(for my own amusement) and occasionally dabble in miniature
I really don't know what else to say; I've never been fantastic at
What I’m doing with my life
... at present I'm a desktop administrator for an international
moving company and I'm attending college for a Bachelor's of
Science in Information Technology.
Essentially that means I'm in charge of the care and feeding of all
things electronic at my workplace and I'm working on getting more
education in the same.
... and to summarize the summary I'm a nerd, it's my job and I love
Furthermore to summarize the summary of the summary... I'll think
of something witty later.
I’m really good at
... fixing things and finding solutions to otherwise irritating
problems. It might not be the solution you're looking for or the
most common fix but I'll make it work. I'll admit that sometimes I
have a tendency to get a little target-fixated when presented with
a particularly pressing problem but I can admit when I'm licked
(which means I'll just come back to it later).
I also like to think I'm good at making people laugh and generally
being the go-to person when someone needs to talk.
The first things people usually notice about me
... would have to be the fact that I always like to be doing
something. I have a dozen (probably less, but hey) little projects
that I tinker with from time to time.
If I had to pick a second attribute I'd say that it's my sense of
humor; it just doesn't quit. I don't know if that's a good thing or
not, but I've gotten some good laughs because of it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Science fiction of the dystopian/cyberpunk variety as well as the
classics (Heinlein, Bova, etc). I'm a big fan of the space opera's
by Peter F Hamilton and I've got a late start but I'm slowly
working through Harry Potter.
When it comes to movies it's along the same lines but I've also
seen and enjoy almost every Pixar and Dreamworks movie ever made.
Thanks to my boys I can quote them all from memory too.
The six things I could never do without
1. My boys (yes, there are two, but they count as one choice)
2. My phone (Warning: Low-key Android fan-boy)
3. A good book
4. A spell-checker; if it weren't for those squiggly red lines I'd
look like a moron.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... whatever comes to mind, really.
On a typical Friday night I am
... doing one of three things: sitting at home doing homework,
sitting at home playing video games or going out somewhere and
doing something. Just depends on my mood.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
... isn't something I'm going to admit on a public forum. You'll
just have to find out by asking.
You should message me if
... you haven't been frightened off by this point and you want to
know just what the hell is going on.
