My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
This quote from Richard Feynman has always resonated with me: "I can live with doubt, and uncertainty and not knowing.
I think its much more interesting to live not knowing,
than to have answers which might be wrong."

I own a very well established consulting firm that has enjoyed considerable success. But it is background to a life of curiosity, exploration and fun.

I'm a bit of a rebel, although I appear conservative. Its probably why I love people like Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart and Chris Rock. Life is too short not to laugh at ourselves. Let's face it, humans are pretty funny.

My path has not always been easy...interesting, challenging, yes, but life has a way of scrubbing us clean. Inner work produces some pretty good personality traits. Kindness, generosity, compassion, to name a few. You stop taking things too seriously.

I am interested in a committed monogomous partnership although I am open to friendship of any kind, as long as it's enjoyable and interesting. I had a good marriage that ended right on time, and some great relationships after that. I made plenty of mistakes and learned from them. Everyone I was with made me a better person.

Romance is essentially about honoring the other one, paying attention to what they enjoy and love, and creating an atmosphere that responds to that. Its not that hard when you figure this out.

I am an old soul. If you know what this means and feel similarly, I would love to connect. We could have a lot of fun together.

I would love to find a partner with like minded interests. Someone nurturing, smart, and savvy, who loves good music, good food, good wine...who enjoys the spiritually sensuous nature of our world..light hearted, and easy going - who will go anywhere with me, intellectually, emotionally and otherwise.

This may all sound pretty serious, and its not. Most of the time you will find me laughing, out in the woods, listening to live music, watching a movie or show, fly fishing in a beautiful spot, or just playing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an entrepreneur and always have been. I would probably be useless working for someone, but I hope to never find out. I like to do things in my own quirky way and it has worked out really well so far.

I volunteer in the state prisons and on a helpline for people under stress. I feel its important to offer service of some kind. Prison's are stressful places when you are required to live there. There is nothing better than a little compassion for the ones that make mistakes. One day it might be you.

There are a couple places I like to visit every year. One is Montana, the other is Andros. Any place else is fair game. If you want to go somewhere, just ask me. There is a good chance of a yes.

I read a lot and really have fun trying to figure out what makes people tick. This makes for really fun conversation. The world is extraordinarily complex, the universe amazingly intelligent. How could you ever be bored?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spontaneous adventure, conversation, listening, making travel plans, telling stories, finding easy ways to do things (my version of lazy), fly fishing, golf, telling dumb jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I smile a lot and laugh to myself. I'm tall, friendly and easy going. I don't suffer fools gladly. I have a limited tolerance for small talk, and am not into long goodbyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

hmmm...Carl Hiaasen, Ken Follett, Jane Roberts, David Hawkins, Tina Fey, Paulo Coelho, Jeff Foster, Haruki Murakami, The New York Times.

Groundhog Day, Shakespeare in Love, Dances with Wolves, Rob Roy, A Christmas Carol. These are great stories that will never grow old for me. Jersey Boys, Book of Mormons - funniest play I have ever seen.

Love Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Larry David, True Blood, Dexter, SNL, CNN, Homeland Security, Boardwalk Empire. I am a sap for the Voice and other talent shows.

John Coltrane, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Diana Krall, Kat Edmonson, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Toots Theilemans, Al Green, Annie Lennox, Jobim, Dave Mathews, David Gray, Jason Mraz, Neil Young, the list is endless. I love live music, esp. jazz.

I eat everything, but in very small quantities.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I do not know what I did before the IPAD was invented.
a good malbec
my friends
espresso in the morning
clean hair and clean sheets
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What makes the universe work... Love...what it is and what it isn't.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I took a lot of hallucinogens when I was young. It had a very good impact on me. I have walked on hot coals in my bare feet. I do not recommend it.

I am not particularly private, as I cannot find a reason to hide things, but this is probably not the best forum. It is good for people to know me a little bit before I reveal too much. I like to have a sense of what can be handled and embraced by others. I have some pretty edgy ideas about life in general and they can easily be misinterpreted.

There is a lot to be said for transparency, especially with your partner. The willingness to be seen is an important aspect of intimacy.

You are sensuous, fun loving, light hearted, know yourself pretty well, don't take this dating thing too seriously (including these profiles), understand the difference between love and being in love (there is a difference), and don't cut and run when things get challenging.
