What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a cool job at a small non profit where helping high schoolers to invent and then build crazy tech inventions for people with disabilities. It rules.

I also am a painter and sometimes show stuff places, occasionally "DJ" places (In parenthesis because I mostly just half-assedly fiddle with playlists in exchange for free booze) once in a while do film/photography work and often make dumb useless stuff for fun (see headpiece in profile picture)

New skills I am currently trying to acquire: C++, French, and jogging.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting strangers to tell me their life story without me asking, starting the dance party, winning at card games, drawing portraits of my friends, asking questions, telling stories, collaborating, problem solving.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Authors: I enjoy fiction and non-fiction in equal measure: Truman Capote, Alice Walker, Ray Bradbury, Richard Brautigan, Richard Dawkins, Oliver Sacks, Joe Klein

Movies: I love a good film, but I hardly ever sit down and watch them. I guess in general, I like old westerns, stupid funny movies, documentaries, Cool Hand Luke, The Warriors, Jurassic Park Repo Man...

Shows: Arrested Development, Freaks & Geeks, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones Broad City Key & Peele, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Star Trek: TNG, Rupaul's Drag Race and of course, The Simpsons

Music: I am a dedicated appreciator of the best (and occasionally worst) that any genre has to offer. just to name a very few: Otis Redding, Elvis Costello, The Velvet Underground, Television & Nina Simone.
Stevie Wonder, Thin Lizzy, Townes Van Zandt, Slick Rick, Sam Cooke, Black Sabbath, The Gun Club, Jonathan Richman, Paul Simon, The Mountain Goats, Radiohead, Habib Koite, Brian Eno Woody Guthrie, The Raincoats, Suicide, Bruce Springsteen, Ray Charles, Ledbelly, The Dictators, Patti Smith, & Dolly Parton.

I am also nerd for Podcasts.

And as for Food I am willing to try anything that is made well, but Indian, Ethiopian, Thai, and Mexican are probably my favorites. One of the things I miss the most about San Francisco is all the Burmese restaurants they have there. I also love to Cote D'Ivoireian food joint down the street from my house.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
+Stuff to make stuff with (was going to say paper and pens, but then I realized, if it came down to it, I could maybe make paper out of leaves and bark and ink out of rusted metal and citric acid? so I guess I technically could do without it, depending on what else there was around?)
+Other people (good ones especially)
+A sense of humor
+Music
+A healthy curiosity about the world
+Oh, fuck it, a paper and pens.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How lucky I am.

Things like education, evolution, people, places, the universe, music, current affairs, the last thing I read, my next projects, and how to make the world around me better, if only marginally.

I sometimes work with an NGO in Liberia - It's on my mind a lot.

Also fun things like drag queens and baseball. Like, those things specifically, more then you'd think.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Somewhere with at least two of the following things:

-music playing
-cool nature
-dancing (even if just in the kitchen)
-a good crew of friends
-beer, gin or whiskey
-a paintbrush, pastel, pencil or pen
-a good laugh or five
-something cookin'
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am mildly dyslexic and I wear glasses because when I take them off I have a little bit of a lazy eye. Hopefully you think lazy eyes and the ability to read backwards are endearing?
