I am intelligent, quick witted, and kind.

My Self-Summary

Okay, I really don't like doing this so......I will let my dog describe me. His assessment is as follows (dictated):
She's a good dog mom. She takes me on long walks and runs around the neighborhood and park. She's pretty even when she gets out of bed to let me out just a few hours after she went to bed. She remembers to feed me, bath me, and take me to have my shots (ugh!). All in all, I think she is a good fetch, I mean catch.

What I’m doing with my life

I am currently writing on the computer. Later I'll watch some television shows I've tivo'd, probably Glee or Bones or Criminal Minds or 30 Rock. I work 5 days a week, every week out of the year (52 total). I plan on winning the lottery one day and moving to an island paradise where I can lie on the beach, relax and drink margaritas.

I’m really good at

everything. I am a great cook, baker, housekeeper, typist, teacher, mom, daughter and sister. I love to write fiction, and am working on my first novel (right now I'm a bit stuck but maybe you can inspire me).

The first things people usually notice about me

is....my smile. I know, everyone says smile, but I paid a lot of money for these pearly whites so I flash them a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love to read anything and everything. I'm very fond of reading books about or set in the South. Fiction and nonfiction books both intrigue me. All time favorites are: Pride and Prejudice, Ender's Game, Hissy Fit, Agnes and the Hitman, Gone with the Wind, Rebecca, Prince of Tides, Little Women, Queen of Broken Hearts, Harry Potter series, Twilight series, and the Sweet Potato Queen series. I also read tons of magazines and newspapers. Basically....if I have free time then I'll be reading something.

My favorite movies vary as much as my favorite books. I have everything from Blue Hawaii to Phantom Menace. I love chick flicks, Bond films (Connery was the best 007), Mickey Rooney, Rocky, It's a Wonderful Life, Gone with the Wind, and musicals.

Music is important to me. I think everyone should have a soundtrack to their life. Mine would compose of everything from LaTraviata to Michael Buble'. I like big band swing, Sinatra and Martin, classical, Harry Connick, Jr., eighties pop, U2, Muse, Diana Krall, John Legend, KISS, Alexz Johnson, Natalie Merchant and some country (preferably something by George Jones, Waylon Jennings or Merle Haggard).

I like food. I like to eat food. I like to cook food. I don't like grocery shopping though. I do like to go out and try different styles of food. I'm not so big on game (deer, squirrel, etc.) but I can cook a great venison roast. My favorites types of food are found in local restaurants not in the chains that you can find anywhere in the continental U.S.

The six things I could never do without

The six things I would never do without (excluding the obvious...food, water, shelter and clothing):
1. My family and friends
2. Something to read (anything)
3. My cell phone (not big on texting but like to keep in touch)
4. A note pad and pen
5. A feather bed and 500 thread count cotton sheets
6. A long hot shower to begin and end each day.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how the world changes and people stay the same; how people can challenge the existence of a higher power and yet can condemn someone for their personal beliefs; how people can think animals don't have feelings; how much Lou Holtz hates the SEC (LSU in particular); how and why yogurt splats on you when you pull the cover off; how movie producers and actors all think people from New Orleans talk with a heavy Southern accent; and how Helen Keller made it from deaf mute Alabama girl to inspirational writer and lecturer.

On a typical Friday night I am

doing all kinds of stuff. This Friday I'm going to an exhibit with my Mom, next Friday I'm going to a friend's 50th birthday/slumber party, the following Friday I am rushing to the store to purchase Halloween candy because I didn't want bags of it in the house for weeks, the next Friday I'm meeting with a trainer regarding a triathalon I'm doing in the Spring, the Friday after that I am staying home and falling asleep in front of the television because I am so exhausted from the previous weeks.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is that I love to watch really corny movies and sitcoms.

You should message me if

you feel like we would get along, you get my sense of humor, don't think I'm to much of a geek or dweeb, don't mind a corny chick who loves baseball, football and golf but knows how to tap dance and sings Janis Joplin karaoke.
