My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a rambling man. I love to travel and move to new places as often as possible. I've lived in Detroit for about a month now, prior to moving here I lived in Denver for about 8 months, Texas for a year before that, and Milwaukee prior to Texas. I grew up in a small town in Southern Ohio but I am a city boy at heart. My work consumes most of my time and I have very little social life these days. I'd like to meet a women with similar interests, a good sense of humor, and a kind heart. I'm a little nerdy and sometimes a little awkward at first, but once I'm comfortable I tend to be pretty out going. My work schedule means I rarely if ever meet anyone outside the office, and that sucks. I like to have a diverse group of people in my life and I am on ok-cupid to see if I can make that happen. At this stage in my life I'm looking for a someone that wants to date for a while and see if it turns into something serious. My hobbies include writing short stories, blogging about current events and people watching. I'm not very superficial and a mental connection and intelligence are far more important to me than outward appearance. I'd like to meet a women with the same priorities for a potential partner. Someone that is willing to understand my career is the most important thing to me right now and can deal with the fact that I'm at the office 90-100 hrs a week is also critical.

I'm very sensitive to other people's moods and body language. I can not be around people with negative attitudes or individuals that are angry all the time. I find that empathy comes very naturally to me and I'm always doing whatever I can do to help others in difficult situations in whatever ways I can. My friends would probably accuse me of being far to generous and willing to give money to others that need it more than I do, sometimes even when giving or loaning the money means I can not pay for my own basic expenses. I do not have time or the energy to play any games, and I'm too old for games anyway, so if you'd like to get to know me message me and lets chat a little and arrange to grab a drink sometime.

I love John Grisham novels. If I'm just looking for something quick and entertaining to read it is usually a Grisham novel. I really enjoy dark/satirical comedy as well. If pressed and I had to pick just one I'd have to say my favorite book is A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. Most of the time though I read non-fiction, usually somehow related to politics. I rarely watch television and off the top of my head can't think of a single current show. Growing up I watched Seinfeld and whatever other NBC comedies came on before or after it. I love movies, my favorites are Rum Diaries and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Music- Widespread Panic, Iron and Wine, Sea Wolf, Gov't Mule, The Little Ones, Firewater, Tea Leaf Green, Los Loney Boys, Umphrey's Mcgee, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Phish, Jerry Garcia, Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Morning Jacket, are just a few of my favorites.

I'll eat anything plant based. I really enjoy ethnic foods, particularly Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine . I can eat grape leaves and falafel all day every day. Before I switched from veggie to vegan I really really loved good cheese. Under the right circumstances I may cheat on my vegan commitment a little and have a bite or two of excellent cheese, although I haven't done so since I made the switch about six months ago, so I'm not sure about that. I enjoy micro-brewed local beers, but mostly prefer wine if I'm drinking with dinner.
