Avid traveller, cook and occasional baker, ex rugby player but still huge fan, generally laid back guy. Also like books and movies and things, but really who doesn't?
Trying to get back into gym and sport and things after surgery, but it's taking a bit longer than anticipated!
What I’m doing with my life
Had a weird few years trying to find what I should be doing in life, settled on IT (so I wish this box was further down! ...computers are honestly quite interesting...). Now concentrating on getting through a few months of help desk work while gaining a few more certifications, then looking towards network or security engineering.
Also as I touched on above, had surgery on my wrist which then didn't recover quite as well as I'd wished and it's knocked my confidence a bit sports wise. Nothing as annoying as a ball hitting your hand only to have your fingers close after it's bounced away! Back in the gym now though, so things are looking up
I’m really good at
I guess I'm a fairly good cook, although with an occasional major disaster. Who needs timers anyway?
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my accent. It's a bit posh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love reading. Iain M Banks might be my fav author, but I'm certainly not limited to sci fi. Also Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey & Maturin series is fantastic, the Millennium series... lots of stuff.
Film - not a huge fan of the endless reboots that have been coming out, but have really loved some of the new original things like Interstellar.
My listening preferences vary a bit, although I can't say I'm a fan of music in major keys. Spotify has been playing a fair bit of Country at me recently and it's actually not bad. St Paul and the Broken Bones was easily the best gig I've ever been to.
The six things I could never do without
Ipod & decent headphones,
A nice woolly jumper,
Cake, preferably chocolate
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything and everything really. I have a short attention span.
On a typical Friday night I am
I might be out, but am not a huge club goer. There's nothing wrong
with being a bit non-social and staying in once in a while either.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Seen very few of the old Disney films - only Jungle Book &
Robin Hood. And that's it. ......no Lion King.
I seem to need to sing while ironing.
