I'm a massive geek, a fairly hard-line skeptic (but not evangelical about it), and I apparently respond to intimidating text boxes with run-on sentences.
I'm one of nature's potterers; I paint miniatures and might finish enough to wargame one day, I attain competence but not excellence at odd things, and I enjoy reading but get distracted from novels by the internet a lot.
I am actively polyamorous (though I try to avoid using the term 'compersion' unless absolutely necessary - I'm quite pretentious enough :P)
What I’m doing with my life
Enacting my first Five Year Plan. It's all very Soviet, but in a pop-culture "bears with machine guns" way, not a scary gulag-involving way.
More seriously, I'm taking some time to focus on family and self while gathering myself up for another pass at the wide world of tertiary study.
I’m really good at
I'm an excellent GM, a good conversationalist, and average at video games but amusing to watch play them.
I'm a hypnotist, amateur dramatist, and decent cook.
I'm an accomplished cuddler.
The first things people usually notice about me
My voluntary baldness. If I happen to be talking about a subject
that interests me, my wild gesticulation might also catch the eye.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like the old Star Wars but I am allergic to remastering.
I enjoy Star Trek on both the normal and ironic levels.
I remain fond of the films of my youth- Labyrinth, the Dark
Crystal, the Princess Bride.
A fan of Firefly and by extension Serenity. Found Buffy fantastic
but never really cottoned to the spinoff.
Musically my tastes are eclectic- right now I am really hung up on
the work of Electric Six, and the Foo Fighters are a perennial
favourite, as are 80's rock/pop musicals. Hunting of the Snark
Food-wise I am a big meat fan, sorry to say. I appreciate
vegetarianism and veganism on practical and philosophical levels
but I couldn't do it myself.
Onions are evil, tomato is only good if thoroughly liquified- it's
the Devil's fruit!
If I were to pick favourite 'cuisines' they'd be Thai, yakitori and
The six things I could never do without
The internet, my friends, urban environments (I would not flourish in the wilderness though it's more than okay to visit), gaming, sex, and irony.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My hobbies, rationalism in general, imaginary arguments.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, running an RPG of some kind, at a 'lifestyle' event, reading, parenting.... my schedule isn't stable. Google Calendar is the last bulwark between my life and chaos.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hard to say- the stuff I'm willing to admit tends to blur together.
You should message me if
You like sarcasm, geekery, food and awful jokes.
