My Self-Summary
Hey, I'm TL. I've never been on one of these websites before but I
have friends and family who have met great people on here. I always
like meeting new people and it is not easy to do that where I live,
so I figured I'd give it a shot!
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I work at an outdoor science school up in the mountains
in Summit County. The community is very transient up here, and
therefore it is hard to actually meet people and find a community.
However, I teach and hike or cross-country ski with students every
day, which is pretty much my dream job. After 6 years of teaching
in a variety of ways in lots of different places, I'm planning to
move to Denver soon to go back to school to actually get a teaching
degree. I visit Denver often because sometimes I just want a change
of scenery and I have a lot of friends who live on the Front Range.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making people laugh and helping people to see
the good in every situation.
I've always been very academically-minded. I read books about social issues and environmental issues for fun, and I love long discussions about just about everything.
I love sports, especially running, skiing, bicycling, rugby, and field hockey.
I also enjoy singing and playing the guitar.
I love teaching and working with kids in any capacity.

The first things people usually notice about me
I've got short red hair so I'm hard to miss.
When I first meet people I am generally very friendly, unless I am in bigger groups. Then if I seem distant it's usually because I'm a little overwhelmed or just in my own world.

Some of my favorite books are "Into Thin Air," "The Poisonwood
Bible," and "Songs of the Gorilla Nation." I have so many others
too... Anything about travel, adventure, social issues, overcoming
obstacles, etc.
My favorite movie is Bend It Like Beckham!
Favorite bands/artists: Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Gillian Welsh, Girlyman, GirlTalk, Dispatch, Matisyahu, Ben Harper, Damien Rice, Juanes, Kimya Dawson, 80's music, salsa music, bluegrass, just about anything...
Favorite food: All Mexican food, pretty much anything that has cheese in it (especially homemade mac and cheese), and stuffing.

The six things I could never do without
Water, food (can't help but be a bit practical), nature, all forms
of playing in the outdoors (especially skiing), music, good friends
and family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about all the things I want to do in
my life and how little time I seem to have. And then I am grateful
that I have too many amazing opportunities I could chase instead of
too few.
On a typical Friday night I am

of friends, generally barbecuing and drinking beer, going out to a
bar/club with great deals and live music, watching a movie, night
skiing, or going to bed early to get up to ski the next
morning...all options that are about just as likely
to happen.

I'm tired of falling for my good friends all the time because it's
almost never mutual.
