Books - my space these days is full of travel, food, cooking,
photo, counterculture and art and design books - about a couple
hundred of them purchased over the last ten years and a lot of
magazines - particularly those oriented towards travel and

Conde-Naste Traveller etc. Rizzoli, Taschen, St Marks Book Store
are some of my favorite places in NYC.
Some memorable reads - All of Tolkien's books (few more than the
popular four), Golden Gate/Vikram Seth, Tinker Tailor Soldier
Spy/John Le Carre, Eye of the needle/Ken Folliet, The Parsifal
Music - live music and DJ sets, exploring nyc performance spaces
and bands and listening to lots of new live music for under $10 a
night is one of my favorite things to do. Some new faves- bands -
Chrome Canyon, The Pharmacy, PassKontrol, Daft Punk, The Nuclears,
Pak, Chain and the Gang, Calvin Johnson. Spaces - Shea Stadium,

Also into modern post slumdog bollywood music. Love Spotify and the
power to explore more new music.
Shows - NYTimes Travel Show - amazing healing place to go every
winter - seriously!! The Wire - best TV show ever - the should stop
giving out Emmies now that it is done or maybe not - Game of
Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Returned and True Detective are kickass
Movies - appreciate all well made movies except the ones made by
Lars Von Trier but the kind I really get excited about are dark,
soulful stuff like sometimes Tim Burton, Tarantino or George Romero
make (yes zombie movies are soulful!). Like Underdog movies a lot
too - yeah - go out and win it, yes you can! I have watched my fair
share of world cinema and love it - Chinese, Japanese, HK, Indian,
Singapore, Italian, French, German etc (love traveling the world
thru movies!). Netflix subscriber since 2004.
Food - Seafood, all types of fruits, nuts, Granola, Grilled
vegetables, Red Wine, Lebanese, Greek, Turkish Cuisine. Dark
Chocolote and/or Stinky Cheese to celebrate something.
