I am cheeky, cheery, and thoughtful.
My Self-Summary
I'm a friendly, thoughtful, carefree person that enjoys
socializing, meeting new people and having good conversation. I've
never had trouble meeting people before, but in Wichita it's pretty
alienated...
What I’m doing with my life
Working a job to try and get the hell out of Kansas and start a
career elsewhere. I've graduated into a crappy economy, but I'm
optimistic and working my tits off to try and establish some kind
of career that will engage creativity. Just finished work on a
documentary and hoping to get more work.
I’m really good at
Running! Just ran a marathon.
Waffling on about anything and everything (esp. history and the
arts). I challenge you to bore me.
Drinking and socializing - not really skills, but I'm pretty good
at cutting loose when I need to :)
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't sound like I'm from around these parts. I have a hybrid
accent that I intend to get patented.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
The Demon Haunted World, Don Quixote, On Liberty, old school
romance novels (Dumas, Sabatini etc). HP Lovecraft, MR James,
Algernon Blackwood, George R.R. Martin, Lord Dunsany, Patrick
O'Brian, Klaus Kinski's insane autobiography.
Movies:
TCM baby!, foreign movies, artsy movies. Babette's Feast,
Notorious, Roman Holiday, The Third Man, Cries and Whispers, The
Last Detail, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Magnificent Ambersons,
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Closer, Manon of the Spring, A
Clockwork Orange, Naked, Star Wars and Jaws (obviously).
Music:
Manic Street Preachers, My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, The
Rolling Stones, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Horrors, Nico Vega,
Los Campesinos!, Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, T-Rex, The
Strokes, Bowie, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Johnny Cash.
(Generally anything other than Three Doors Down, Nickelback, Puddle
of Mudd or Green Day suits me quite well).
Food:
If there's curry on the menu I'm having it. Love Indian, Thai,
Italian. Wine, though not a food (!), is always good too. I'm
always up for trying new and interesting foods; when you live on
the west side of Wichita you're kinda of out of luck unless you
want a heart attack for dinner.
The six things I could never do without
1- Laughing... a lot.
2- Good conversation with good company over some form of
drink.
3- Running
4- Rocking out in my boxers.
5- A notepad.
6- Oxygen. Ha. Ha. Ha.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Probably the same things you do: the future, art, politics, why
Wichita can't fix it's feckin' roads.
On a typical Friday night I am
Anywhere but in front of my computer. Like to be out of the house
if possible. Doesn't have to be a bar, but...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I thought the Quiet Game was a real game...
until I was 21.
