My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Suzi!

I live with my awesome cat Rasputin and I am a total dork. If you want to know more about me, message me. I like to talk (as evidence, see the MASSIVE amount of nonsense I've written below), and I'm friendly and I like talking to new people. *smiles*

I am updating this periodically as I was pretty inactive on here for a few years (recently separated; any questions, ask.)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm still working on figuring this one out. Mostly, being awesome. For a living, I'm working in a doctor's office. For life, I'm cooking, crafting (learning to sew, most recently), and trying to remember how to ride a bike. Also, accidentally killing my plants.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
doing the awkward dance. Yes, there's a dance. Oddly enough, it's awkward.

But here in real life, I'm told that I'm a very good cook. I like to eat, and I don't always have access to the varieties of cuisines that I like, so I've learned to make that which I enjoy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes and my smile. Unless they heard me first. ;p
Also probably that I'm rounder than the average bear.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm a giant book nerd. I <3 <3 <3 the Harry Potter series (don't judge), and just recently started reading (and read through) the Hunger Games books. (I swear I don't just read YA fiction though.)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy makes me laugh every time, and The Princess Bride is another favorite. I like a lot of classics, I was that jerk in school that liked to read for Lit. To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favorite books of all time. (I have a weird obsession with books set in the American South) I also enjoy non-fiction, usually social commentary, history, biographies and memoirs. Really though, I'll read anything that I can put my hands on. Recently I've also been reading a LOT of blogs.

Movies: I am woefully behind in my movie watching. It's tragic and embarrassing, and if you want to improve my movie knowledge, I'm all for it, I'll make the popcorn. :) I don't usually watch horror because I'm a big wuss, but other than that I am game. Netflix is helping me expand my horizons (I finally saw The Goonies in 2010), the problem with Netflix being that I keep watching kids movies and documentaries.

TV: I don't have cable, but I DO have dvds and the magic of the internet. I *love* Arrested Development, Community, and The West Wing. I also really like South Park, The Daily Show, Mythbusters, and a bunch of other stuff. I also <3<3<3 stand-up comedy. OH! And Jeopardy! I'm totally obsessed with Jeopardy!

Music: I like some of everything, in pretty much every genre. I'm told that my taste in music is fairly random and often terrible, but I like what I like. I like going to shows, and have seen a variety, from Deftones to Brad Paisley, Nine Inch Nails to Celine Dion (AND she did a tribute to Freddie Mercury, so I have to love her now). I love live performances of anything, music or otherwise.

Food: I love cooking at home as well going out to try new things. I love good beer and wine (and gin, but that can be dangerous). I have a pretty big nerdcrush on Michael Pollan. I love vegetarian and vegan food, but I like variety way too much to give up meat entirely for long. I try to cook seasonally and I've been getting better about choosing local foods. I'm learning to cook more and more ethnic foods at home. I've killed a container garden like four times now, so have accepted that my summer veggies will just have to come from my CSA box. I adore cooking for people, and I collect vintage cookbooks.

Other Random Interests: I love baseball, and I'm a Phillies girl all the way. I also sew (I'm still learning), and I like to ski. Xkcd makes me laugh. Scrabble is my favorite board game. I <3 air hockey :D
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Really? I have to pick just six? I don't like this game anymore....
Honestly, when I did this earlier no matter what I put in it sounded silly. But what's really important in my life is my group of friends and my family (really, my friends ARE family). With them, I laugh, and that makes life extra awesome. Also, lists. I'm entirely too scatterbrained to live without them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
life, the universe, and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My nights are never typical. ;p
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
-I have cancer(chronic myelogenous leukemia; I'm in active treatment that is keeping it in remission(a pill, nothing scary); yes I like cancer jokes; no I'm not dying). I forget to tell people...and then it'll come up in conversation (like when I get fired up about healthcare) and it's really awkward and I feel like a jerk. So, consider yourself informed. *smiles*

-I'm recently separated from my husband.
