My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If you are 1) pro-life, 2) homophobic/anti-gay marriage, or 3) don't believe in evolution or if you have an inclination to take The Bible over hard scientific evidence--we're not going to work. A lot of people get butthurt over this statement, but these are values, beliefs, and truths that I hold very dear and I like to be upfront. It's not a judgment on your lifestyle or what you choose to believe.

Also, being called sweetie, dear, cutie, sweetheart, honey or hun by anyone that I don't know/barely know and who's not a senior citizen makes my skin crawl.

I have two dogs, both pitbull mixes and both great sources of hilarity and lolz. Also great sources of methane and snoring.

My first word was no.

My first sentence was, "You're not the boss of me."

I went to all girls school from pre-k to 12th grade.

I was raised by a liberal progressive mother who taught me about cars and how to fix stuff as well as stereotypical domestic stuff.

In short, I'm stubborn and independent to a fault sometimes. I like figuring things out on my own even if it takes longer. Sometimes I need someone to remind me that it's okay to ask for help.

I like beer. A LOT.

I don't do football or baseball, but I will absolutely do MMA, hockey, and soccer.

Kindness and gentle-ness are very important to me. I prefer handwritten notes put where I'll notice them during the day and goofy mix CDs to most anything else you can find in a store. I'm not much for perfection, more for imperfect reality. At the end of the day, if I can find someone who's kind, gentle, makes me laugh till I almost or do pee and can't keep his hands off of me, I'm more than happy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.

education, education, and more education---I'm a semester away from finishing a neuroscience degree and on a track towards medical school, hopefully. Not for the money so much as the humanitarian aspect. Seriously. I enjoy helping human beings. I'm planning on pediatric and adolescent psychiatry and working with combat PTSD cases. I would really like to help my best friend start a free clinic for veterans. I don't subscribe to the pill peddling school of psychiatry so don't even go there. Medication is simply one of the tools in psychiatry, not a magic bullet.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
figuring it out on my own, making dessert, spelling, listening, writing backwards and/or upside down, semantics, finding the loophole, stain removal, and boobs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I say what I think, like on a ready, fire, aim basis. It just means you'll never wonder where you stand with me. Trust me on that one.

Physically? I don't know. Are you a T and A person or what?

The first things that *I* notice about people---hands, smile, laugh, voice, the way they treat their pets and/or others (Especially the way they treat waiters/waitresses.

Also, I talk alot of shit and possibly appear to be uberconfident and self-assured (emphasis on the ass part of assured), however a lifetime of nerdery and rejection has conditioned me into being a big ween about making the first move most times.

So if you're into it, let me know you're into it---chances are I'm into it, too. Conversely, if you're NOT into it, let me know, I appreciate that kind of honesty.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

WORDS----The Odyssey, Night by Elie Wiesel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Beloved by Toni Morrison, Othello, Kahlil Gibran, Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman, William Faulkner, Pablo Neruda, Isabel Allende, Anna Akhmatova, Like Water For Chocolate, Federico Garcia Lorca, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jorge Luis Borges, Tennessee Williams, Dante Alighieri, Jorge Luis Borges, Flannery O'Connor, Albert Camus, Langston Hughes, Lysistrata, The Jungle, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy

MUSIC---Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, George Clinton, Girl Talk, Portishead, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious, The Roots, anything Motown, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Tool, NIN, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Massive Attack, Tricky, The Black Keys, Stevie Wonder, Bjork, David Bowie, Jean Grae, Iggy Pop, Jay-Z, Dragonette, Florence + The Machine, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, John Lee Hooker, Erik Satie, Black Star, Die Antwoord

FOOD----anything spicy, Italian, Tex-Mex, Thai, Indian, sushi--I think it also depends on the mood I'm in and the amount of time I have. In an ideal world, I would have time to cook and bake and all that, but in the real world, I'm usually living off of Trader Joe's trail mix and dried chile mango, and caffeine.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
words (written and spoken), music, my hetero life partner, my voice, my car, my dogs.

Because...The living, breathing, eating, fucking answers ought to be obvious.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to save the world,am I doing the right thing, why in the hell do people do the things they do and act they way they do, need vs. want...and of course sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not good at schedules so I can't say, really. Based upon what I would LIKE to be doing---it would involve good food, good conversation, laughing until I can't breathe, and possibly drinking and/or dessert.Alot of times I do the old person thing and just hang around the house.I sometimes attempt to read non-school things or watch TV, but I usually fail.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I made out with a gay man once.
