I'm from the Midwest and apparently it shows. I'm open-minded and a huge nerd. I really enjoy science, video and board games, politics, order, chaos, nature, and puppies. I occasionally hug trees. Laughter and humor are beautiful things and both are core to my being. I am goofy as all hell. I am left-handed, left-brained, and left-wing!

I have a PhD in Plant Genetics from UCD. During the day I work for a law firm in downtown SF doing IP analysis. During the evening I work at a think tank that focuses on designing methods for turning gyms into biofuel factories.

handling situations that cause most other people to have meltdowns...it's a gift! I can also manipulate the fabric of life with biodegradable tools.

Books: Lord of the Rings and all the books I read on the physics of time travel, they were very interesting lol

Movies: Donnie Darko, I Heart Huckabees, Forest Gump, Contact. I love cheesy horror and sci fi in general as well

Shows: Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, Weeds, Dead Like Me

Music: lots of different things, depends on the day.

Food: if it's edible I will probably eat it and love it.

Friends and family, laughter, sunny days, my laptop, peanut butter, and my cylon resurrection ship.

I spend obscene amounts of time thinking and talking about chromatin dynamics...if DNA isn't folded right, shit goes down!

I also spend some time thinking about the obvious things, like the concept of obviousness.

Solving for x, decoding the chaos, or salvaging emotional shipwrecks.

I think milk is awesome.
