A decent, aesthetically-minded, hard working dude with nerdy tendencies, an affinity for flannel and denim and dogs named after food.
What I’m doing with my life
I spend loads of time walking and running with my dog all over the streets, trails, and beaches of the bay area. I'm lucky as hell to work locally as a firefighter. I get paid to meet and help all kinds of people, learn new things every day and hang out with pals.
I’m really good at
Nearly killing myself with caffeine, giving compliments, tying a bowline, always having knicks and cuts on my fingers.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I look like Anthony Michael Hall, Macklemore, or some other
lame white celebrity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Suttree, pulp westerns, A Thousand Plateaus, Please Kill Me, Trout Fishing in America, Italo Calvino. I'm trying to do a better job of branching out from white American male authors and lofty French theorists.
On Any Sunday, California Split, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Ratcatcher.
Bill Callahan, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Lee Hazelwood.
SORBET!!! banh mi, kumquats, Neopolitan pizza, goat cheese, ginger tea, meatballs, yakitori, tamales, avocado, cilantro, oysters, cheeseburgers all day, fried plantains, spaghetti carbonara, tacos de al pastor, pozole.
The six things I could never do without
warm sun, blue jeans, my mutt, the sea, the pines.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Waves, trails, peaks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Could be i'm working, or having a beer, or out of town. Lately, it's been a stack of records, a book, and a few cold ones.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My workplace nickname is "cabana boy".
Update: now it's "robocop". :(
You should message me if
You like getting outside, you're more Buzzcocks than Beatles,
you've been arrested before, you own a sailboat, you have lots of
patience, you want to ride bikes and drink tall cans and then go to
a nice dinner.
