My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Lets start this interview....I'm not sure what to put here because meeting for drinks is better way to learn about someone than any online description.

Grew up in the midwest, went to UT and stayed here. I've been in Austin 12 years, call the river Town Lake, remember Mack Brown's glory years, so I'll call myself a near-native Austinite. My brother lives in Mountain Austin (aka Denver) and my sister lives in West Coast Austin (Portland). We made good life choices.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making the world a better place - one road or rail line at a time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Engineering - according to my coworkers.

I love playing kickball, volleyball, and tennis. I also love running and cycling to stay in shape.

Random bar "sports" - foosball, darts, and pool.

I play bar trivia every week - remembering useless info finally pays off (or for beers).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My love to play and watch sports, an occasional dark sense of humor, and my fondness for craft beer. At work, a type A personality and intensity.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - General non-fiction and humor. Always been into history, so books that show how events unfolded are really interesting. As Mark Twain said, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't."

Music - Assorted top 40 in rock/rap. Songs that have some speed to work out to.

Movies - A Few Good Men, Casino, Departed, Team America, Rocky I-IV, Devil's Advocate.

TV - Law and Order, South Park, HIMYM, Archer, The League, with an occasional documentary. Some reality TV like Bar Rescue and Pawn Stars.

Food - An awesome sandwich and/or pizza joint will make my top 5. These could be fightin' words, but: Texas Brisket > KC Brisket, however KC ribs > Texas ribs. And tex-mex plus breakfast tacos because it's Austin.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. my smartphone (i wish this wasn't true)
2. Music - work and running are unbearable w/o tunes
3. Coffee - mornings aren't my thing
4. my contacts
5. comedy
6. craft beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what's going to take to fix traffic in Austin.

How to cook awesome food without setting off the sensitive smoke alarms in my apartment. I make a little bit of smoke - and they go off like it's a three-alarm fire.

When will the Chiefs win another playoff game?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm out with friends somewhere -either at friend's place or downtown. I'd rather be at chill bar with a few friends than places that are noisy and packed.

My favorite areas downtown are:
1. Rainey St - can hear myself think.
2. East 6th - chill bars.
3. Warehouse - classy, but w/o the noise of....
4. West 6th - some good, some not-so-good
5. Red River - occasionally do a concert
6. Getting hit by a car
7. Dirty 6th

Or I'm chilling at home watching a good crappy movie. Fun to watch, but lacking in style and substance - something like Starship Troopers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I learned the hard way that if you put in/take out contacts after handling spicy food, you are going to have a bad time.

Think drunken mini-golf is a great way to spend an afternoon

Can't decide between porters, stouts, IPAs, pilsners, and Belgian ales because they are all awesome

And in all seriousness - you're an awesome person who has it together and wants to meet the same.
