My self-summary
Hey, I'm Tommy. Originally from the midwest, I've been in the Portland area a little over two years now and can't imagine a cooler place to live. Looking for fellow explorers.

I'm a pretty silly person who isn't afraid to indulge my nerdy side. The culture out here is fun and fascinating, and I'm always looking for new ways to get out and meet people. I like movies, food carts, drinking tea, reading, Netflix, video games, photography, long walks, exploring new parts of town, Meetups, learning new things, baseball, kickball; and when possible, any combination of these activities.
What I’m doing with my life
Out of college, I worked at a series of non-profits, including a year in AmeriCorps, which I really enjoyed. These days I work in adverstising for a tech company out in Hillsboro. It's been very nice to enjoy a little bit of stability with the economy the way it is.
I’m really good at
Singing Disney songs at karaoke, baking chocolate chip cookies, learning things, listening, Mario Kart, amateur photography (like everyone else in Portland, am I right?), remembering odd details from movies, biking around, taking long walks, naming all the presidents and spending too much time on Wikipedia.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told the sound of my voice is pretty distinctive (Midwestern accent?). I can also be a little shy but warm up quickly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Douglas Adams, Everything Bad is Good For You, Darkness at Noon, Harry Potter, Brave New World, Slaughter-House Five, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Pride and Prejudice, Hunger Games.

Movies: I always see the films nominated for best picture. The Artist was my favorite last year. Some others: Inception, ALL THE PIXAR FILMS, Moonrise Kingdom, Lord of the Rings, Lost in Translation, Miyazaki, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World

Honestly, I used to think TV was a huge waste of time, but with shows like Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec, etc., I really think there's been some amazing stuff over the last few years.

T.V: Daily Show/ Colbert Report, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Friday Night Lights, Parks and Rec, Sons of Anarchy, some anime (Fullmetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Naruto among others).
The six things I could never do without
Remember that part of Harry Potter where Voldemort separated his soul into 7 horcruxes? That would be a cooler question. I have a few things in mind, but maybe when you get to know me better.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I daydream a lot. I like to imagine what it would be like if my friends and coworkers were all in a Parks and Rec type TV show and who would have the best witty asides.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a huge fan of a Japanese television mascot named Domo Kun. I have a cute little plush of him, and it's fun to take pictures of him in funny places.

You should message me if

You'd think it'd be fun to get to know each other.
