I am open, authentic, and expansive.
My Self-Summary
I love to sing and dance!! Friends and family are actual karaoke
fans of mine, and it's a pleasure to play the rockstar frontman
that is hidden away in this here heart o' mine. Can you say,
"second date"?! Ok, maybe third..
When I'm talking shit, I'm usually aware of it. I am not a big
sports fan; Hooray! (If you are into baseball particularly, that
could be a sign off the bat that we may not connect so much.. but
I'm open to surprises!), However, I do enjoy a good game of tennis,
beach volleyball, and love to play pool, a quasi-sport. Also, have
gotten pretty into watching mixed martial arts lately, which is a
sublime vicarious release for me..
I am a rapturous and sensitive listener, and love to talk it up too
(with you though, not at you). I'm becoming more and more a fan of
'uncomfortable silences', probably because they tend to not make me
feel too uncomfortable these days. In fact, that pregnant pause
between conversational gestalts can be, when opened to, anything
but a pause, and among the most intimate moments of living.. I find
silence to be the invisible juice and magical elixir of life! This
is where my life and 'spiritual path' can converge into
nonseparation.. The result can feel like a warm, vast ocean on the
inside; what could be better?!
I will really see you, and that will hopefully make you feel good.
I am deeply authentic, precisely because I am aware of my
inauthenticities, so you can trust me and feel comfortable enough
to be truly your deepest, most beautiful and precious self, less
defensive and more open. I am a sweet and potent lover who is full
of energy and open to experience sexual contact as a path to the
present moment, and thus to the Divine; I will bring you with me,
and let you bring me with you. I am both serious and playful, full
of integrity, and can also keep up with the bullshit. I am at times
in touch with grace, and it's contageous! If we connect, I will
also make you laugh a lot, which is good for your health!
What I’m doing with my life
Sloooooowly, but surely!, obtaining my intern hours towards
becoming a licensed psychotherapist. Don't worry, I'm not one of
those distant, heady type therapists, I'm the cool kind! Also am
learning to enjoy and surrender to the moment, in all of its
tumultuous and mysterious glory!
I’m really good at
keeping my bullshit detector running in tiptop condition, through
regular tuneups and oil changes. It's part of my job as a
therapist, and a damn handy tool in meeting the world at
large!
drumming, beat-boxing (not a dead artform yet!), making cereal
mixes that should be sold as a cereals themselves (hmmm..),
feeling, 'getting' people, scrambling up rock formations, saving my
first time to get up on a surfboard for that 'perfect wave',
boogyboarding!, making apparently pained expressions when I'm
ecstatically enjoying food (waiters doing their quality checks a
few minutes after the entree arrives are forever confounded by the
look on my face in mid-chew..), embodying paradox..
The first things people usually notice about me
is... from behind, these 3 mysterious stripes on the back of my
head, that are actually just wrinkles in my scalp, or is it alien
abduction scars..
from the front, the bright holes in my face through which I
see.
I've also been told that when locomoting, I tend toward doing so
with a swagger.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books: The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, This is the only book
of
hers I've ever read, and I was absolutely blown away
by her capacity to make the heart and mind of the characters
palpable, reading it was like eating ripe fruit. Jitterbug
Perfume, Siddhartha, The Alchemist, Autobiography of
a Yogi, Fear and Loathing, The Illuminatus Trilogy, Eat Pray Love,
and more often than not, non-fiction in the realm of nondual
spirituality/psychology (If there's a type of nerd I could fulfill
criteria for, it'd be that kind!)
movies: American Beauty, Crash, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,
Royal Tennenbaums, I Heart Huckabies, Rushmore (anything with Jason
Schwartzman pretty much kills me) Amelie, oh, and I'm gonna go
ahead and consider the following shows movies too, because after
all it's not tv, it's HBO: True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm
(funniest show EVER) Six Feet Under, Sopranos, & Tell Me You
Love Me (sadly pulled), and what I've seen of Showtime's Dexter,
Californication, and Nurse Jackie are pretty damn good too..
music: Interpol, Sigur Ros, Broken Social Scene, De La Soul, Murder
City Devils, Belle & Sebastian, Girls Against Boys, Queens of
the Stoneage, Stone Roses, and grew up on the following: Joy
Division, Pixies, Smiths, The Clash, My Bloody Valentine.. Music is
essentially my favorite sense object, next to the female body:), so
this is a miniscule representation of what I like, lest I bore you
with the details..
food: anything with cheese or corn, stripped-down midwestern
casseroles (thanks mom!), risotto, chicken (moist not dry!), dark
chocolate, french pastries (a year in france has forever endebted
me to the beauty that is gobs of butter and salt mixed with dough
and sugar), and last but not least, cereal, the late night snack
extraordinaire..
The six things I could never do without
my ears for music, my nose for flowers, oils, food, & for when
after it rains...... my eyes for subtle touch, my hands for not so
subtle touch, my heart to propel me through it all, and my
motorcycle too! and ummmm... silence, without which none of these
would mean a thing to me..
I spend a lot of time thinking about
who's thinking/feeling/sensing? Although I wouldn't say I'm
'thinking' about this, more of an invitation into raw awareness to
see what it's like to just be and not think, without consulting
memory or the mind... psychobabble anyone?! A qualifier here; I
don't take myself too seriously, but also try not to hide behind
humor as a way to avoid being real. It's a delicate balance! but
effortless when I'm just letting myself be.
and who will be the woman I spend the greater part of this life
with..
On a typical Friday night I am
tends toward the mellow, whether in or out, occasional dancing or
karaoke, which is no reflection of how much I looooove singing and
dancing! Drink with a friend or two, dinner, playing tennis, movie
night.. there does not appear to be a typical one!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm right-brain dominant! more of a be-er, less of a doer. But
don't get me wrong, I do stuff! I simply value my state of being
faaaaaar more than filling the void with doing stuff all of the
time.. Oh, and I'm an 'intuitive feeler', according to
Myers-Briggs. That'll likely be either a turn-on, or a turn-off for
you. i.e.-- If you're looking for that magical mechanical man, I
ain't the dude for you!
You should message me if
.. you can relate to the following..
A woman who is open in heart and mind, knows that learning and
growing are a way of life and embraces that, is sensual, sexual,
and confident in her capacity to impact others, as well as open
enough to be impacted; a potent being, aware, alive, and deeply
authentic. At the same time, you love to talk shit and be
sarcastic, boogy, rock a stage (or at least open to occasionally
being my groupie!) and totally embrace all the fun stuff, so
someone who can go there with me too. But again, you tend to value
being over doing, even if but just a smidgeon..
