I am compassionate, playful, and upbeat.
My Self-Summary
I am a retired computer teacher, and a widow (was married 44
years). My children are 3 sons: one each in Boston, Seattle, and
Waterford. I have a wonderful daughter-in-law and 2 super grand
daughters in Waterford also. My family is the touchstone and center
of my life.
I am moderately active, enjoy the outdoors, and fun with friends
doing just about anything. My worldview is global, and
hopeful.
I have a playful sense of humor, and love witty or serious
conversation.
I am hoping to meet a playful, active man, who is affectionate and
family-oriented.
What I’m doing with my life
Since I am retired, I have a lot of leeway. In the summer, I
golf twice weekly if
possible. I like to ride my
bike, and
kayak occasionally, would do this a lot
more if I had a like-minded companion.
Card playing
is an activity I enjoy, as well as other games.
Plays and
movies are essential. I love live music
of most genres. I love dance, love watching it, and
dancing on the few
occasions that allow for it.
I am a one day a week on duty gramma, doing school pickup, homework
help, and just enjoying them.
I spend 3 months of the winter in
Florida.....January thru April.
I’m really good at
Computers and math, my last job was teaching and tutoring in both.
I would like to find an outlet for that skill that is useful in my
community.
I'm organized pretty well, and financially secure. Money management
is a strong suit.
I communicate well, and am a good friend and helpful to those who
need an understanding ear, or practical assistance.
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess that I am quite outgoing, and happy to welcome new people
to any group where I am.
I tend to be a little sassy, and a cut up, I just enjoy humor and
use it to make the day brighter.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite books are mysteries, but not gory. I try to temper this
with some literature, and non-fiction. I love a humorous book, but
have used up all of those in my local library where I am a regular
visitor.
In movies, I really enjoy a great performance in any genre, except
horror. Like drama, comedy, action films that have some plot to
them, and well developed characters.
Most music is enjoyable, except really abrasive jazz, angry rap,
and I haven't been acquainted with opera.
I never met a burger I didn't like. Like to explore ethnic foods.
The six things I could never do without
The rich life that comes from belonging to a family
The affection and companionship of great friendships
Experiencing art and music in its many forms
Enjoying nature in all her variety
Staying active and appreciating the ability to do so
Continuing to learn about people, relationships, the growth of
knowledge in this modern world.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Finding a partner to share the rest of my life.
I loved being married, and had a great guy in my life, not to say
life was always perfect, we faced challenges like everyone does.
But on balance, it was way heavy on the glass half full side.
Loving and being loved is the pinnacle of human experience, I
think, and I miss it a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
Once a month playing nickel-dime poker...
Sometimes out with friends or family, sometimes home alone reading
or watching a movie.
Maybe a bonfire with the neighbors.....in the summertime.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a birthmark under my pinky toe.
You should message me if
Anything I've said here appeals to you........
If you would like to meet for coffee and chat......
If you would like to join a local widow/widowers group, I belong to
two of them.
