I am down to earth, compassionate, and cultured.
My Self-Summary
Hey all,
My name is Tony and I am 24. I was born and raised in
Iowa, but have just recently
moved to
Austin,
TX, in search of bigger, brighter, and more exciting opportunities.
I have a degree in
advertising and hope to someday find
a career as an
art director, but first this mess
of an economy needs to get its act together.
I discovered a new passion for
travel last year as I went
backpacking through 14
European countries by myself and would love to experience all 7
continents by the time I die (hopefully far sooner than that,
though). I enjoy both quiet evenings in with friends and a
movie, and hitting
the town for dinner and a few
drinks. I enjoy
cultured activities
(
art museums,
theater,
live music, etc.) and
finding new and exciting places in this great city of Austin. I'm
also hoping to get a little closer to nature - I haven't spent
nearly enough time outside lately as I would like to.
I'm looking for a real relationship of any kind. If it's romantic
that would be fantastic, but I'm also looking for great new friends
with similar interests. Surely something here trips your trigger...
shoot me a line and we'll chat it up.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently doing the service industry thing at the Roaring Fork. But
my dream job is art direction for advertising. That would make me a
very happy guy.
Aside from career stuff (why is that always so important?), I'm
spending my life meandering around Austin. And I love it! I also
just joined
Big Brothers Big
Sisters and hanging out with my little bro has been really
great so far.
I’m really good at
entertaining people. I have a knack for making people smile... or
hopefully laugh. I don't have a lot of shame (though I'm not
obnoxious about it), so I can usually find a way to have a fun time
with people - which may or may not involve horrendous dancing.
The first things people usually notice about me
That's a no brainer... It's my good looks and charm! Well, maybe
the charm at least...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
As much as I would love to read, I have trouble getting into a
book. But I enjoy reading about
multicultural/ethnic/socioeconomic
sorts of issues. It's kind of become my thing.
I tend to lean towards the comedies. Favorites are Young
Frankenstein, Little Miss Sunshine and more. I also enjoy the Kill
Bills, Fight Club, etc. I'm finding a new fascination with indie
and foreign films.
My music collection is incredibly eclectic. People usually laugh as
the song goes from Sublime to Tim McGraw to the RENT soundtrack to
some random Christian song to Dr. Dre to a random Brazilian song.
Really, I like just about everything.
Food is amazing. That's really all the farther I need to go...
The six things I could never do without
Family/Friends (I'll bet my family is bigger than your
family)
Internet
Travel
Good food/beverages
Sleep is gooood
Adobe Creative Suite
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the future. I wouldn't say I live for the future, because it's all
about living in the moment. However, I do like to know that the
things I'm doing in the moment have me heading in a good direction.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably working at the restaurant. But if I'm lucky enough to be
off I enjoy having dinner and drinks with friends. I also spend
quite a bit of time just vegging out and relaxing after a long work
week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Really? We haven't even met yet...
