I like Woody Allen movies (the old funny ones), movies by
Hitchcock, Jim Cameron, Jim Jarmusch... I also like Star Trek, the
original Battlestar Galactica, Bruce Campbell, Doctor Who (the
Doctor=Tom Baker) and all kinds of more geeky stuff. I used to like
Ridley Scott while he was making films like Alien or Blade
Runner.
I am also familiar with many really cool European films, including
Soviet and Eastern European ones. If you want to watch the original
Solaris with me, I'm totally up for it.
I like jazz and classical music. Then again, I also enjoy both rock
and pop. I like all sorts of music.
Favourite painter: Richard Diebenkorn, no contest. I also like Joan
Mitchell, de Kooning, Pollock, de Stael, Grace Hartigan, Franz
Kline, Robert Motherwell, Arshile Gorky, Wayne Thiebaud, Picasso,
Braque...
I don't really watch tv (with the exception of certain shows which
I have obtained on DVD, such as Bottom, The Office, Extras, The
X-files, Mitchell & Webb, Blackadder, Curb Your Enthusiasm,
Seinfeld etc.). I have several hundred films on DVD and I prefer to
buy the films I want to see rather than wait for them to be shown
on tv.
I'm a big fan of Mitch Hedberg's comedy and I think the standup by
Woody Allen back in the 60s was sublime.
