My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a mid-Atlantic native who transplanted to Boston several years ago for grad school and now call the city home. I've become accustomed to the place, but would like to reinvent my experience here by meeting folks I would not otherwise come across in my day-to-day travels.

My work keeps me on my toes, but I find time to do all kinds of things in and around the city that are of interest to me. Ideally I'd like to spend as much time as I can outdoors (even in winter). I enjoy urban pursuits and more rural destinations, but ultimately it's the company you keep that makes all the difference.

I like trying new things, learning new things, and being challenged.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in clinical research, managing several projects that I like to think are at the intersection of public health and medicine. When I'm not working, I'm learning as much as I can about things that interest me, and the list of those things is formidable. Believe me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
asking hard questions.

I like to laugh! I like to find humor in all things.

I have eclectic & diverse tastes...high-brow and low-brow, local and global. I can't claim that any of the things listed below are 'favorites' per se, but I hold them in high regard. For example:

Books I've enjoyed recently include Independence Day by Richard Ford, Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon.

Films I've liked include Chariots of Fire, Amelie, Metisse (Cafe au Lait), The Insider, Household Saints, Smoke, Serpico, Bladerunner, anything by Hitchcock.

As for music, I really am one of those people who likes a taste of everything. I played the cello (classically trained) for many years, so I have a deep-rooted love of classical music. I listen to sacred choral music, even when I run (weird, I know). That said, I listen to hip hop, to the top 40, to country music. I also like ambient noise.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
friends & family (my friends are like family)
walking/running (moving through time and space)
music (all of it...)
contemplative spaces (man-made and natural)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
connectivity and linkages.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Meeting up with friends for a casual night out or learning something new
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I like magical realism as a literary device. There. I've said it.
