My self-summary
I'm a student at the University of Minnesota, Morris (though my home is in the Twin Cities and my profile location may shift at times) who tries to balance maturity and playful immaturity.

I'd consider myself shy and bit socially-awkward, but socially-awkward with a desire to make people laugh and raise their spirits in some way, mostly through writing or something. A lot of my time is spent with friends trying to make our own fun, be it walks across town and getting together to watch shows and movies, to playing video games and lounging about. Other times, I'd like to be alone. Just a balance between the two. I'd consider myself an introvert, but an introvert that enjoys good conversation and laughter.

To sum it up, I'm that socially-awkward and lost-in-thought guy in the sitcom that is life. I prefer to be behind the scenes, but the spotlight is also nice on occasion. All in all, just trying to have fun with it.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently studying English and Psychology at college. I'm also part of the editorial staff at the college newspaper. I manage the Variety section, meaning that I get to deal with a lot of visual and written creativity from my writers while refining my own work. It's a nice gig and it's the kind of thing I'd like to be doing after college.
I’m really good at
Creative writing (with a focus on creative non-fiction, I guess) and editing. I've dabbled into short playwriting and open-mic prose/poetry every now and again, but it's far from what I do anymore.

I'm also good with computers and electronics, or at the very least able to adapt to most of them.

Also, video games as a simple hobby.
The first things people usually notice about me
My red pea coat and my ducky tie. Also, my use of red and black in some outfits on occasion. At certain weekend/friday night events, I might be sporting a tie or dress shirt for something as simple as a party or get-together.

Otherwise, probably my height and skinniness as far as males go. A windy day could send me to Oz.

The six things I could never do without
Laughter. Nothing could replace such a thing. It keeps me moving forward and I like bringing it out in others.
Music. I usually don't go out of my way to follow or try to discover new music, but it's always a pleasure to have around.
Internet. Sounds trivial, but yeah. It's something to keep me connected with friends, the world, and work.
Vanilla ice cream. It always gets a bad rep for being "bland," but it works for me. Tasty, delicious, and can turn my day around. Talk about seemingly meaningless things being... not meaningless.
Books, movies, TV, etc. Any form of fiction, really.
People. Even if I'm usually the quiet one, I'm always grateful to have (good) company.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going in life (mostly whether or not I'm going anywhere), my own personal growth, and the good times that have happened and will happen with the people around me.

A little thing on my mind is how little I seem to read outside of schoolwork despite being an English major. Guilty.

Otherwise, I'm usually focused on coming up with weekly ideas for the campus paper.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends and likely going out on the town on some aimless walks and drives when it's not frezing out. Worst case scenario, I'm at home enjoying time with myself.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Past problems with self-esteem and a few present ones, too. I second-guess myself at times, but all in all, I'm in a great place within the grand scheme of things.

I can also be a pretty picky eater. A supreme topping pizza is a nightmare to me.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19–22
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You want to get to know me more, have some fun and friendly conversation, or if you know anything good to check out on Netflix or Kindle or something. Any kind of talk such as casual, emotional, serious, humorous, whatever. Anything, really.

No YOLOs. I'm usually anal about grammar, but since messaging is pretty colloquial, it's not that big of an issue. A good chat's a good chat.
