My self-summary
I'm originally from Texas, but I moved to New York for work about two years ago. I'm really happy with the decision- I love the city, my job, living in Brooklyn - basically I love my life here.

I read constantly and sometimes take notes on interesting programs from the History Channel, yet I can never find my keys.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a non-profit literacy program in Brooklyn, which means I hire college students and train them to work with preschoolers. In the end, I get to feel like I'm still in college while also periodically visiting classrooms to get hugs from tiny people.
I’m really good at
Scrabble. As far as other pathetic talents go, I'm freakishly good with names and dates. And not to be intimidating, but I also won a first-place ribbon in a hula hooping contest on field day in 1994.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure about the first thing people notice about me, but I do know who notices me first - the elderly. They love me!

The six things I could never do without
1. chapstick
2. itunes
3. access to indoor plumbing and a shower
4. family
5. friends who are family
6. coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
stepping around subway grates and cellar doors.
On a typical Friday night I am
most likely getting a drink with friends, though there's a possibility that I'm wandering around to find live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I watched the movie Arachnophobia sometime around its release date. This means I haven't fully slept through the night since circa 1991.
