I own a mobile home (different than a “van down by the river” – SNL reference). I like that I can mow and do some gardening (or shoveling) and yet not too much that I spend all my free time taking care of it. It also allows me to be able to travel as there are not too many expenses. I also thought that if I met “the one” it would be easier to sell if needed. I have discovered there are some home improvements I can do on my own – installed a motion detector light and minor toilet tank repairs – and other projects it is best to hire out if I want it done right – pretty much everything else including fixing the motion detector.
I like my job (most days) and am good at it (most days). I like the variety and the challenge that comes with an IT job and the world of finance. Family and friends would say that I have changed jobs frequently (average every 3yrs), but each job has been a move to a better opportunity. It is a journey to something new and exciting and always learning – not to mention keeping my interviewing skills current. I have a nice network of friends from all the jobs and still keep in touch.
I feel very blessed to have known all 4 grandparents and a couple of my great-grandparents. My family is important to me and I try to spend time when I can with them. My younger sister considers spending a weekend at my place a vacation so usually willing to do whatever she is in the mood for.
I am part German and a Taurus so I can be bullheaded. However, I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong or apologize. As a middle child, I still want to keep the peace.
For the most part I am laid back….I don’t care what activity we are doing as long as we are spending time together. I prefer to give gifts that allow me to spend time with someone rather than something materialistic. I like to send cards out of the blue just to pick up someone’s day.
I don’t have many pictures of me because I am usually the one behind the camera. I really like photography but I am no pro – I don’t own a DSL camera yet either but working up to one. I like taking pictures of nature and architecture and just memories of where I have been and who I was with.
I am a Christian and do go to church and am somewhat active in it. I sing in the church choir and plan the entertainment for our Military support group’s military appreciation dinner that we are on our 5th year of putting together for November. Planning is my “thing” I guess…I also plan many happy hours with different groups of friends. Maybe that is what the next career change should be….However, that being said, I really appreciate it when someone else takes the time to plan an outing.
