I just moved from New York to London, and I'm looking to meet a new crew. :)

I'm easy-going, and am always out and about: tons of concerts, restaurants, quiz nights, the occasional board game...I'm restless.

I'm also a compulsive traveler: I moved here mostly to travel. I especially love road trips but I won't say no to a nice weekend on trains either.

I'm a trader (lots of math, lots of yelling) but I also spend tons of time writing. I spent most of my time doing journalism in college and I really miss it -- I'm semi seriously trying to restart freelance writing.

Also, traveling, traveling, traveling, traveling:

being chased by the spanish national guard/getting stuck in tunnels in France/speeding in the rain on the autobahn/realizing polish roads are mostly undrivable/driving to Italy for lunch/spending a weekend on trains in the Black Forest/finding the quietest city I've ever seen in Malta/nearly getting kidnapped in Pisa/spending the solstice with druids at Stonehenge/staying in the building where Lawrence of Arabia was born/riding motorcycles to hilltops in Ha Long Bay/falling in love with night trains in Vietnam/failing to climb Mount Fuji in a typhoon/playing boardgames in a remote pub on a fjord in rural Norway/generally saying: eh, it'll work out just fine.

I'm not quick on my feet with words, but let me stumble around a little bit and eventually I'm very good at saying exactly what I mean to. My job has made me very, very good at this.

Also, Sporcle geography. So addicting.

I love live music, especially indie rock. I go to a few shows a month. Arcade Fire, Wilco, and Fleet Foxes are favorites.

I'm a fan of the standard American tv comedy fare (Family Guy, The Office, etc.), and have really only ever gotten into one serious (or even semi-serious) series: The Wire. I'm actively looking for British TV tips.

I read tons of creative nonfiction: many pieces from longform.org (a curated long-form journalism aggregator site), and travel writing too. I've been on a huge Paul Theraux kick recently.

Where to go next, either today, or tomorrow, or next weekend, or in August, or all four at once.

To be honest, in the next year, it'll probably be on a flight somewhere, but I'm not one to say no to drinks at a bar or a good gig if I'm around.

I'm a compulsive storyteller to the point of self-consciousness.
