My self-summary
Me:
- Laid back
- Creative
- Bit of a smart ass
- Outgoing and social... yet an introvert (I know, an odd dynamic)
- Prefer a townhouse near downtown or quaint older house in Lakewood... over a McMansion in a generic suburb.
- Diverse passions, including food, art, live music, sports photography and theater
- Love traveling - The Carribean, spending a couple weeks in Europe, wine tasting in Napa and the Colorado Rockies are all places that make me happy. As well as a weekend road trip to the Hill County to hear a band at Gruene Hall.
- I have zero musical talent, but really wish I did
- Enjoy volunteering - and not just to meet girls
- Have never owned an Ed Hardy or Affliction shirt. And if I ever wear one, assume it is a Halloween costume :)
- Love walking around Bishop Arts after dinner, listening to a band in Deep Ellum, sitting on a Henderson Ave patio... as well as staying home on a Saturday night watching a movie
What I’m doing with my life
Spending time with great friends, being a little bit of a sports nerd (which is a bonus since my career is in the sports marketing), finding new and different things to do on weekends...

I love exploring new places and cultures, which fuels my passion to travel. At some point, I will spend more than the standard 2 weeks in Europe. Want to go there and really live the culture instead of being a spectator for a few days.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh (at me or with me, I am not sure which), photography, giving advice/mentoring co-workers, and making myself appear better on this profile than I am in real life
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that I have a friendly demeanor and my sense of humor.

(Ok, some probably notice that I have a receding hairline... But I should be bragging about myself here. Right?)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies - classics like Shawshanks Redemption, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Dr Strangelove, North By Northwest... to Hangover, Fletch and any Will Ferrell flick

TV - Community, Mad Men (prob my #1 all time fav show), SportsCenter, The Office, Friday Night Lights (RIP). From the non-mainstream shows... Diners Drive-ins and Dives and International House Hunters seem to be on my TV more than anything.

Music - My taste lean toward great singer/songwriters, classic rock, classic country, and those who are amazing musicians. Springsteen, Lyle Lovett, Willie, Dylan, Robert Earl Keen, Beatles, Ryan Adams, Ryan Bingham, Clapton, Monte Montgomery, Old 97s, Avett Brothers are all favorites.

I LOVE live music, preferably in smaller venues like Poor David's, The Kessler, HOB, Granada, etc

Oh, and embaressingly a big fan of Neil Diamond

Food - Love Italian, steak, Greek and Mexican (does pizza count as its own category?

I love dining out at a great restaurant. And by "great" that doesn't mean the most trendy. While I have list of new restaurants I want to check out, some of my all-time favorites include Cane Rosso, Al Beirnat's, Angelos, Bolsa (or any Bishop Arts restaurant) Fuel City (street tacos = YUM) and going to Jimmy's Food Store for a great sandwich (and Italian red wines!).

Other stuff - I love going to "events" (have season tickets for the Cowboys and the Broadway Series at the Winspear), street festivals, museums, charity events, etc...
The six things I could never do without
- my friends
- traveling
- a TV (embarassing to say that, I know)
- my iPhone (even more embarassing to say that)
- great food
- great red wine and cheap beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Often, work. But I love my career so this isn't a bad thing.

Also spend time thinkin' about photography, sports, what dive bar has the best jukebox, who has the best pizza, etc

And travel...
On a typical Friday night I am
There really isn't a "typical Friday night"...
I might be with friends at happy hour, enjoying a great dinner, going to the theater to see a play/musical, sitting at home alone watching a game and being anti-social, etc.

What's missing is someone to join me in some of these activities, plus cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I tell ya, it wouldn't be private.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–42
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
- You own a passport
- You're young at heart
- You're outgoing and funny
- You're intelligent
- You can go to a black tie event one night, and a dive bar the next
- You have similar interest to mine... but also ones of your own
- You have many friends and don't stop being friends with them the second you start dating a guy

FYI - I am separated. No drama or crazy ex. With that, not looking for overly serious at this time. On the other hand, not going to kick an incredible girl to the curb. I am not looking to be a serial dater or for random "hook-ups". Rather, I want to make new friends and if it leads to something more than friendship, great! Just getting that out there :)
