I'm a born and raised Southerner, but consider myself very progressive. I like both urban and wilderness adventures. My favorite activities are day hikes, museum explorations, and trying new food. I enjoy being there for other people, but I tend to be very self reliant, as I am used to moving around the country on my own. It can take me a little while to be able to lean on another person, not because of a lack of trust, just out of habit. I like most people I meet, because I've found we aren't all that different than one another. (Well once you take out the extremes of serial killers, people like Ghandi and MLK, and those who like the taste of spam.) And just about everyone has an interesting tale they are willing to share with the right coaxing.
Things I strive for and love to find in other people include: inquisitiveness, honesty (especially self honesty), kindness, and empathy towards others. Empathy being the most important, because real communication goes beyond just the words.
