My self-summary
The short version is that I'm a geek/nerd who bathes every day and is kind and sweet and funny. Pretty much like that guy in that romantic comedy, you know, that one with that guy in it? Yeah, that one.

I tend to be polite to people I don't know, and totally honest with people I do know. I try to think about other's feelings. I don't like gossip (It's usually very boring). I make jokes, favoring absurd-ist humor and bad puns. I don't talk while watching movies/TV (at least not during good TV). I get along with most people, but actually like very few people. I'm very patient, except towards willful ignorance and incompetence (as in: you've refused to learn after being told several times). I don't take most small problems, insults or inconveniences personally, and generally pity those who do. I like to solve problems and puzzles. I'm usually very kind.
I prefer the indoors, and dislike crowds and concerts. I don't follow sports.

I looking to date girls who are single and looking for a relationship. I'm not interested in F***buddies, flings or one night stands. I'm especially not interested in open or poly relationships (those are for people who are lazy and/or self-centered and/or natural cheaters).

Games are important to me. Video games, board games, RPGs. if it's got rules to learn and exploit, I'm in. Though I don't really care for most FPSs, and fail to see the point of playing a Sports video game. I've played mostly Console and portable games, and only gotten into tabletop RPGs more recently (last 2 years). Games have been with me since I was very small. My grandfather gave me a Gameboy when I was 5, and I'm quite attached to them. It's not something I'm ever going to "grow out of". The way people get "wrapped up in a movie", "settle in with a good book", "get lost in the music at a club or concert", those are feelings I achieve through games. If you're not a fan, at least respect it as a worthwhile pastime.

Science is the only way we can actually know anything. Rational thought is what separates us from the beasts and the humans who have difficulty understanding why we need pants. If you have a religious preference and don't mind a dirty heathen that's fine. I try to be a good person because it helps others, not because of divine judgement.

I like sci-fi and fantasy. I like reading manga more than watching anime, because of the pacing. (though both are usually better than western comics and super heroes) I like Doctor Who, Fringe, Lost and any other show that can mix sci-fi/fantasy with good writing and characters.

I'm socially liberal and fiscally moderate. I like to talk about politics, but don't have to. That said, I really can't get along with socially conservative people. Fiscal conservatism is a policy that can be defended, and we could actually talk about it, but I can't get along with people who are scared of gay people getting married. Someone as funny as David Sedaris should be able to marry anybody he damn well pleases.

Most of the questions asked on this site could have a number of caveats or exceptions. This is also true of most situations in Life. I try to base my decisions on as much information as possible, and avoid sweeping declarations. This may in fact be the most important part of my character. Reasonability, and flexibility in opinion and viewpoint. I abhor stubbornness, and people who refuse to let their minds be changed. Which, ironically, is an opinion that I will never change.
What I’m doing with my life
Workin'. I gots ta get paid, son. <===Not how I actually talk.

Working on creating a Pen and Paper RPG, which I plan on publishing. I have my own rule set, character classes, character sheets and every thing. The system is not based on any established system like the d20 system(most 'homebrew' systems are simply adaptations/rehashes of existing systems). It includes a rule set for Airship (regular ships are boring!) combat, which is really lacking in most RPGs, or if it exists it's very simplified/crappy. It's actually become quite good, and the thing I am most proud/smug of.
Smug as in "Oh, you're working your own game too? Tell me about it...un huh...so you're taking D&D and renaming things to make it Steampunk/cyberpunk/sci-fi/cavemen? That's *cute*. I made *my own* system, instead of just copying/pirating someone else's. ...Yeah. No, no, I'm sure you've made various, important improvements to that system...which you didn't create."
...Also, it turns out I'm oddly competitive about it. I've never been competitive about really anything else, so this is kind of a weird feeling for me.

But I'm also looking for new/more friends! [normal-ish statement written mostly to distract from last 3 paragraphs]
I’m really good at
-Game design.
-Giving presents. the trick is to remember what you've shared and done together and get something not quite directly related to that.
-Being quiet. Some people don't know when to shut up. I am not one of those people. (that said, people used to constant banter may find me too quiet)
-Conversation. If there's something to talk about. I can't do small talk.
-Listening. I'm okay with listening to the problems you've had through the day.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, what I do know is that about 6 months after meeting me, people tend to say, "you know, you're not what I thought you were when I first met you," meaning that I'm actually better than my first impressions give.
...because apparently I come off as either a robot or serial killer. I'm just a little shy, I swear!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
-I like detective stories, in all mediums. Jeff Lindsay's Dexter books are just wonderful. David Suchet as Poirot is great. There's an anime called "Case Closed" which I love for its many, many Rube-Goldberg murders.
I like anime, but I greatly prefer Manga. most Anime slows the pace down just to fill time, and loses the artistry of the original.

-I like fast-paced, character driven comedy, Like The Office, or The Simpsons Seasons 1-7. Have you seen The IT Crowd? I like Judd Apatow's movies, and that sense of comedy, like The 40 year Old Virgin and Knocked Up.
-If you have seen Scott Pilgrim Vs The World then you have basically seen into my head.
-I like most kinds of food. At any type of establishment there's something I can eat.

-I don't have strong feelings either way for most music. I don't like repetitive lyrics or music solely intended to dance to. I like music that fits the mood. The music I really like tends to be fast paced. Sorry if that's a bit vague. Right now my favorite artist is Anamanaguchi.

-For video games, (which no one asked about, but are just as varied a medium as any of the others in this section) I like RPGs, both action and turn based. I love Castlevania, Megaman and Zelda games. Fallout, Mass Effect, Borderlands, Final Fantasy and more. Though I don't do sports games and first person shooters without an inventory or leveling mechanic bore me. (I played games where you run forward and shoot people quite enough on the NES, thanks)
The six things I could never do without
Games my brain demands problems that it can solve, and if I do not meet its demands, it will kill the hostages.

Japan -Godzilla, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Hikaru Utada, Gundam -I could go on forever about the great things from this country. ...or at least a while.

Internet -It's where we are right now!

Comedy -more important than music. Comedy is an art form rarely respected enough.

NPR -Cable news is a complete waste of space. I want real journalism, dammit.

Showers -cleanliness may or may not be next to godliness, but I can't stand having dirty hair.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My game that I'm currently working on. Or thinking about how I should really work on it, but don't feel like it right now.

Politics, science, and political science.

girls. they're pretty.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for the Amy Pond to my Rory Williams.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Most of the times that I act like an idiot it's done purposefully, for the sake of comedy. I like character-based comedy, and am willing to make myself appear foolish for the enjoyment of others.
Sadly, this often makes people not take me seriously as a responsible, adult human being.
I believe this to be a fair trade-off, as most of the time being able to put others at ease through comedy is more important than impressing them with your grandiosity and serious nature.

Also, to quote Ron Howard : "His best friend is a talking pie!"
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
Honestly, I've been on here for 10 months, and had a total of 7 girls message me without me messaging them first. I'm going to assume that's because you're all waiting for me to make the first move, and not because I am inherently unlikable.
Thing is: if you click on my profile, and you don't send me a message, I assume that you're not at all interested in me. I'm not gonna bother you with saying "Hey, didja like what ya saw?" to everyone who comes through here. That's just desperate.
So really, message me if you're interested in me, if you like me, or might like me. It's not that difficult, really, I swear it's not.
Just like, click that button. The one up top. Yeah, the one up there that follows you around as you scrolled down this far. Just click it and write some thing like "oh hey, I read that you liked "X", and I like/love/approve/can-live-with that thing too."
Or ask a question, like, "wait, why do you like that thing that you wrote about?"
C'mon. Just do it. You've read this far and are still reading. Seriously, stop reading this and message me.
