I am generous, radical, and wise.

My Self-Summary

Itinerant historian, lover of Great Lakes, pancake maker, cutie pie. I've spent a long time in my beloved Minneapolis and just moved to Detroit a year ago now for an awesome job.

I spend my time reading YA novels, homebrewing ginger beer, theorizing about technology and being enthusiastic about things. Other things I like include bicycles, the woods, dresses, coffee, community activism (as local as possible; find me at the park board meeting and the doorknock), tweepop music, and wild edibles (aka eating things off the side of the road). I've become very fitness-y lately and want to be able to do the swan dive in Pilates. I've also recently become a Quaker, and I'm very serious about it.

I'm looking for confident, interesting queer ladies, including feminine spectrum transfolk, for dating, and everybody cool for new friends in a new city.
Now in French
Salut!

What I’m doing with my life

Working at history museums and writing history books (still working on the second).

I’m really good at

Cooking, solving problems, being brave, having great ideas

The first things people usually notice about me

My enormous earrings

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Some of my favorite authors are Samuel Delany, Angela Carter, John Crowley, Patrice Kindl, Derrick Jensen, John Holt. I like fiction with queer themes, sf and ya, green anarchist and transhumanist books (I like the tensions), and ephemera from archives. Right now I'm reading a Georgette Heyer book. My favorite poet is Lorine Niedecker. I love old movies, especially film noir and screwball comedies. My favorite band is the Magnetic Fields; I also love Heavenly; other recent favorites are the Acid House Kings. My favorite foods include cherries, tomatoes, sorrel, flatbread, hazelnuts, tempeh, fennel, eggplant and hot peppers.

The six things I could never do without

Mason jars, my bike, the support of my friends, my cat, books, paper

I spend a lot of time thinking about

my dissertation, the wind (which strongly affects biking conditions)

On a typical Friday night I am

Making an awesome dinner, then going out for drinks or to see music with friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I still sleep with a teddy bear.

You should message me if

You're friendly and confident.

You don't forget to be awesome.

You're sweet and generous.

You want to go on a picnic.

You can show me the best biking routes in the D.

You're a librarian, archivist, or other information professional, so we can talk about museum metadata vs. other standards.
