I am creative, interesting, and passionate.
My Self-Summary
I recently moved back to my home town after traveling the US as a
coordinator for a traveling childrens museum. I graduated with a BA
in psychology, and am now working in my field as a crisis
interventionist. I love the outdoors, especially trees, and find it
hard to meet people with my same passion. I have an awesome border
collie mix named sage who i found in arizona while on a roadtrip. I
am constantly finding new hobbies, and have an insatiable appetite
for knowledge (I'm an avid user of wikipedia). I am currently
fixiated on learing circular breathing on my didgeridoo. I love
playing music, hiking, cooking (especially ethnic foods), reading,
relaxing with friends,... i realized this list could span a few
pages, so I'm stopping. Pictures are coming, I dont have any recent
photos, and my old ones are stuck on my virus filled laptop.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm working on building my resume (working as a crisis
worker for at least a year), and then hopefully moving to the
pacific northwest. I would like to someday own a farm or orchard. I
cant see myself cooped up in a an office all day like I am now. I
like my job, but I hate fluorescent lighting.
I’m really good at
I find that I am good at a lot of things, but excel in few. cooking
(I'm actually really good at that), landscaping, identifying random
plants, conversations (I actually listen), and many others.
The first things people usually notice about me
It would have to be my hairy back when I'm swimming... kidding.
Actually, it would probably be my easy going personality. I guess
people might also notice my hair... although that will likely be
changing soon; I'm going to cut it for the summer.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
my favorite books: Michael Pollan is my favorite author - I have
read all of his books and love them all, especially Botany of
Desire. Til we have faces by C.S. Lewis, LOTR, Watership Down, and
many others.
I'm currently reading Night Falls Fast by Kay Redfield Jamison.
The six things I could never do without
Trees, Family, my dog sage, toothbrush, books, and freedom (which
I'm starting to think I don't really have).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
lately, I have been thinking about spring... I am starting to get
impatient. I think about having a farm and what animals I would
have and what I would grow. Really, it changes so frequently, in
the fall I thought a lot about brewing cider and traveling. Winter
its usually music and cooking, spring its what I can grow (I am
going to order hop rhizomes tonight). however, looking at my
internet history would be better indicator.
On a typical Friday night I am
generally cooking a good meal with my sister and brother-in-law(my
best friends) - Last friday it was morrocan. Maybe watch a movie,
go to borders, have a few drinks, play cards, etc. However, things
change in the warmer months. In warmer weather we might go camping,
bonfire, grilling, or hiking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I lost my cell phone on purpose... now i kind of regret it
You should message me if
you actually like to go outside, don't use "lol" in every sentence,
and have hobbies and interests other than ipods and texting
friends.
