My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Someone recently called me an upscale hipster...I'm not sure what that means but I've never been called upscale anything so I'll take it. I'm a curious fella', which has turned me into a nerd (geek? whatever the kids are saying these days) that likes to learn about or try a ton of different stuff. Usually, the more adjectives the better- except for whiskey. Let's keep that simple. I have a dry sense of humor and come pre-loaded with a heavy measure of sarcasm too, but with good delivery so it's like I'm funny instead... I think.

Don't let all the nerd talk fool you, though; I definitely prefer being active over rolling 20 sided dice at home. Bball is my main game, but I like tennis and volleyball, too. Probably helps that I am left handed, unlike Inigo Montoya. And I really like the outdoors...like maybe too much. I even have those goofy finger shoes (NO! I DON'T WEAR THEM AROUND TOWN).

I ended up in Phoenix for work but am originally from LA. I've lived in a couple of other countries and a couple of other places in 'murica (NYC I enjoyed the most), but always feel as if I'll end up in LA or San Diego. I've got this weird obsession with Portland and Seattle, though. Not sure where that came from.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently finished med school and am now toughing out medical residency for the next 2.5 years. I like to imagine that my life is kinda like Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy combined, except instead of booty calls I get booty pages (yes, pagers still exist) that involve doing rectal exams on patients, my friends don't cause me any drama, I don't have an enemy janitor, and I don't have any roommates. So I guess to recap, my life is nothing like either show.

"Sounds like this dude is way too busy to hang out" you might be thinking. Incorrect. The last thing I wanna do after work is sit down and veg out, so I try to keep my sanity by going to events like First Friday, exercising, or trying to grab a drink after work. I'd be lying if I said my career isn't demanding. I love my job but I am relentless in not letting it define me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Identifying a song by the first beat
Picking items I like at new restaurants.
Appreciating corny jokes that make everyone else groan. (see above)
Photoshop
trivia
living that INTJ life (I'm pretty outgoing though. Yes, that makes sense.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A good friend told me I look like the Property Brothers. I can see it. Also, I'm super racially ambiguous.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Kitchen Confidential and To Kill a Mockingbird are up there. 1984 and Brave New World, too. Oh and Fahrenheit 451. Anything where society gets ruined I guess haha. All of the works by Netter, Robbins, Lehninger, or Harrison are instant classics also.

Movies... if other people are movie buffs I'm a movie bodybuilder. My favorite is Starship Troopers (Don't laugh! I have good reasons.) but I'll watch anything...from fantastic foxes to slasher space movies to chick flicks directed by the creative luminary of our time, Tyler Perry.

Favorite shows right now are House of Cards and Game of Thrones. My all time favorite is easily Arrested Development. 30 Rock and BSG are tied for 2 and 3. I used to like LOST but the finale was probably the biggest betrayal of my life.

I do listen to various types of music, but most of my jams are EDM and hip-hop. Feed Me, Hardwell, Kendrick Lamar...it's all good.

Food- I really like sushi (long term goal is to go to that Jiro guy's restaurant in Tokyo) and Indian. The spicier the better.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

The outdoors 'cus outdoors is awesome. Mountains, underwater, desert, forests...all of it

That smell when you walk by a laundromat.
Yes, that's more than 6 things. Go ahead, tell OKC.

(of course, family and friends, too. let's not forget water, food, air, carbon *rolls eyes*)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Is it really practical to learn how to jump into one's pants instead of going in one leg at a time?

bonus: airspeed velocities of unladen swallows
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
