MOVIES: Star Wars (of course!), the Alien series, The Thing, Memento, The Goonies, The Godfather Trilogy, the new Batman trilogy, Being There, Inception, Heat, Pan's Labyrinth. Also derive a bit of guilty pleasure from old spagetthi westerns. Basically, as long as a movie is smartly done I'll probably enjoy it no matter what the genre is, but I do tend towards fantasy / sci-fi, crime dramas, and historical dramas. . .but I still get a kick out of stupid action movies. Most horror nowadays doesn't really interest me unless it has some kind of science fiction element to it, but I do enjoy a lot of the old classics.
TELEVISION: Don't really watch TV anymore besides what I can stream on demand. Old favorites include The X-Files, the original Twilight Zone, pretty much any Star Trek (although I wouldn't necessarily go so far as to call myself a Trekkie), 24, Lost, Cheers, Frasier, Mythbusters. New favorites include Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Fringe, Adventure Time. Also: historical or science-y documentaries.
There's a bunch of shows I'd like to actually sit and watch through - The Wire, for one, and I've never really seen the Sopranos if you can believe that, plus there's a ton of of Anime series out there I'd like to sample at the least - but my time is kind of at a premium and I'd rather read or take a bike ride than sit in front of my computer for hours on end since I sit in front of a computer for hours on end for my job.
MUSIC: I actually have pretty varied tastes when it comes to music. I tend to lean towards classic rock or *good* new rock, but I can seriously get me into some good techno or blues or folk (kind of opposite sides of the spectrum, there, but whatever.) Recently discovered the sub-genre of post-rock and am frigging loving it. I was also a classicly trained pianist in a former life and love the REALLY old stuff, too (Chopin rocks, and Motzart's Requiem is hardcore!). Favorite groups would be Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, Tool, Pink Floyd, The Flaming Lips, Portishead, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, The Beatles, Future Sounds of London, Underworld, Ben Harper, and Crippled Black Phoenix. I could keep going on and on, actually, but thems the basics. I used to be hardcore into music but fell off when I kept moving into places where I didn't have room to set up my stereo system. Now that I work from home and can jam out to my tunes all day AND get paid for it I'm trying to make up for lost time, but frankly all the stuff that's out there now that's either old stuff I missed or new stuff I'm just hearing about can be pretty overwhelming. Thank god for youtube and pandora.
FOOD: I'm pretty much a midwestern meat-and-potatoes kind of guy, but I have a bunch of weird food sensitivities (not QUITE allergies, but close. I'm also allergic to a few things too) that can make exploring new foods somewhat. . . suspenseful. I have a particular weakness for a good hot ham 'n cheese sandwich or bowl of soup.

-Are open minded and generally accepting of other people as long as they're accepting of you. Overly judgemental people and myself usually don't get along very well because I am overly judgemental of overly judgemental people.
