Disclaimer: I've decided to do a complete revision here. Now that I'm in the final stages of my PhD, I've realized a few hard truths. In the interest of being very honest with myself and anyone else who happens to read this, I've decided that the future is so uncertain that I should not advertise myself as looking for anything long-term. Would it be cool to find someone long-term? Sure. But given that I'll be pretty focused on writing my dissertation and then looking for jobs both domestic and international, it might be a bit irresponsible to make any pretenses towards the long-term. In short, I'd love to find someone who wants to make the most of whatever time we might have together. Cooking dinner, exploring nature on longish trips, laughing at stupid shit... sign me up for all that.

Why should you even bother pay attention to my profile? Well, for starters, I generally smell nice in person (who doesn't like a guy who smells nice?). I'm pretty open and honest about my feelings. I can cook fairly well (and like to cook for other people... hint-hint...). Children and animals tend to like me (I like to think this has something to do with a positive, non-creepy, non-threatening aura I'm kicking off...). I'm a feminist and queer-friendly (in that a large number of my friends are queer-identified). I love to travel, listen to live music, be outdoors, and generally soak up life...

Sub-Disclaimer: I'm a very warm person and I'm pretty in tune with my emotions. I don't do well with people who are too emotionally guarded. Also, I tend to err on the side of emotional honesty, so if you are someone who would prefer not to talk about such things or not work through issues sooner than later, I'm probably one of the worst connections you could make. See, just being honest about who I am. :)

I'm currently a PhD student. I'd also love to try my hand at creating electronic music (need money to buy equipment... And, let's face it, a swift kick in the ass). Really interested in doing more with my time... Suggestions accepted as far the whole "doing more" thing is concerned.

Music: I love music. Chances are we like some of the same stuff. I listen to a lot of electronic music, Hip Hop, Jazz, and some indie stuff.

Food: This really depends on my mood. I'm down to try anything new. Fresher is always better in my opinion. Always on the lookout for new CSA farmbox recipes. :)

Out with friends. Unless I've cooked something. Then I'm in with friends. Unless I'm not. Then I'm somewhere else.

I cried at the end of Howard the Duck (it was 27 years ago and I really don't have any idea why I did now that I think about it...)

After sitting down and looking at the types of women I've gotten along very well with, a few things trends seemed pretty clear. By no means am I saying that I'm looking for someone with all of the following qualities, but here are a few things that I tend to be drawn towards:

-Women who are older than I am
-Professionals (doctors, lawyers, businesswomen, etc.)
-Artistic women (musicians, visual artists, actors, etc.)
-Very strong-willed women (with opinions they aren't shy about sharing)
-Women who are sexually confident (in terms of knowing what turns them on)
-Women who love sports (especially football and basketball)
-Women who live healthy lives
-Women who are techie/crafty
-Women who can hold their liquor
-Queer women
-Women who are passionate and compassionate
