I am optimistic, cynical, and nihilistic.

My Self-Summary

I'm an optimist... I'm a dreamer. That doesn't mean I never accomplish anything. I just perpetually imagine even more.

I'm a cynic... I'm a critic. I see that the world would often improve if people just lived and let live. Most meddling leads to more hurt.

I'm a nihilist... I'm a relativist. I adapt quickly and easily and feel comfortable with most outcomes.

What I’m doing with my life

I dabble in many arts, the most time-consuming being my graduate school studies in computational biology. I work as an instructor while getting paid as a lowly TA, and I still research neurophysiology in the department of comparative biosciences at the vet school. That's right, I am no longer a nuclear physicist. When away from school and lab, I mostly spend time with my amazing girlfriend. We have a poly relationship, so we often go out to chase girls together. We also climb rocks, suspend and pull, pet my industrious cats Applet and Midi, dance at the Inferno or the Mercury or the Cardinal, attend concerts, hike, bike, swim, skate, ski... and snuggle. In my down time, I play music on guitar, keyboard, or saxophone, compose, read, write, program computers, canoe in the boundary waters wilderness area, and research astrophysics.

Since a couple people have asked about the suspension pictures, here's a little blurb: Suspending hurt more than any other masochistic activity I've done, though friends who have gotten branded said that hurts even more. About five minutes after I first lifted off the ground, my body started going into shock. The suspension team saw what was happening, fed me a sugar pill and wrapped me in a blanket. I went back up in the air soon after and swung around for about 40 minutes overlooking the campfire. It was beautiful, exhilarating, and extremely intense. Later suspensions have been much more relaxed and, though always intense, my body now knows what to expect and does not try to go into shock. In addition to suicide suspensions, I've also suspended in superman style in a warehouse, in tandem facing my girlfriend suigyoku, and my latest suspension was a crucifixion for "Easter".

The six things I could never do without

air, water, food, sex, my guitar, my cats

On a typical Friday night I am

... wondering how people can have typical Friday nights.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

... that I sometimes sneeze when horny.

You should message me if

... you've read this far and aren't scared, yet.
